French police bulldoze migrant camp - Polidicks

278 migrants have been held as French police raid a camp in Calais known as 'The Jungle', bulldozing any make-shift housing they have been using. The camp is used by people trying to make their way into Britain illegaly. If they fail one day, they can simply return to the camp and try another day. French riot police had clashes with protesters as they tried to make their way into the camp, but the protesters were soon cleared. French Immigration Minister said the camp was closed as it was a base for human traffickers, charging the poor people there high amounts of money for entry into Britain, and that it was not closed out of disrespect to the people there. Britain has denied allowing any migrants from 'The Jungle' into their country, unless they are 'genuine refugees', to which they should have applied for protection in the first country they entered, not Britain.
