Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has told President-elect Donald Trump that he isn't interested in serving as secretary of Health and Human Services, a Carson ally confirmed to The Hill on Tuesday.
Business manager and close friend Armstrong Williams said Carson won't join the incoming Trump administration and would only serve as an unofficial adviser.

"Dr. Carson was never offered a specific position, but everything was open to him," Williams told The Hill in a phone call.
"Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience, he's never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency."
Perhaps it's for the best, that guy was a bit... odd.
oh god, yes. Now let's hope somebody less ahem, eccentric, fills that role.
He has no government experience so he ran for president????
Further proof that Carson only ran to sell his book.
Trump has no government experience and he is president elect. Carson shouldn't sell himself short
Phew, we really dodged a shotgun pellet there.

What about Trump and Fiorina?
What about Trump and Fiorina?
(That's the joke).
Anyway, thank fuck. Nobody who believes that the pyramids were used to store grain should be let near the White House.
... then again, nobody who denies climate change should be let near the White House, but that ship has already sailed.

I think there are more skills that come from running large and successful businesses that can cross over a bit to governing a country than, say, neurosurgery.
he's not nearly establishment enough for Trump's cabinet. put someone like gingrich, or priebus, or pence, in his place
What about Trump and Fiorina?
Pascall's point was that it's silly that he's turning down a position in the Trump administration because he feels his lack of experience may hinder the presidency... even though it didn't stop Carson from running for president.
School textbooks are now safe!
Damn, was hoping for nationally sanctioned naptime.

I'd be totally okay with this.

wait, you're saying having a man with literally no government experience and has never held elected office in his entire life have a high position in the federal government is a bad idea?
Ben Carson is a fucking moron. It shocks me when anyone takes him seriously.

He's proof that a person can be really brilliant at one thing (neurosurgery) but be an absolute fucktard at everything else. He's not a well-rounded genius in any sense of the term.
Who are we going to get if not Carson? That should be our concern now. They could be better (not a hard standard to beat though), or they could be worse than he is...

I'd like to point out that this is the same man who claimed Joseph built the pyramids to store grain.
