TEXAS CITY — A local plumber is being flooded with phone calls — and some threats — after a picture of one of his old company vehicles being used by Islamist militants in Syria was posted on Twitter.
The picture was posted online by the Islamic extremist brigade Ansar al-Deen Front, according to a CBS News report. It shows a black pick-up truck with a Mark-1 Plumbing decal on the door and an anti-aircraft gun in the bed.
Mark Oberholtzer, who has owned and operated Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City for the past 32 years, confirmed it was his pickup truck in the picture. He said he no longer owned the vehicle and had no idea how it ended up in Syria.
Oberholtzer said he traded in the truck to an AutoNation dealership three years ago. He usually takes the decals off his vehicles when he sells them but he left it on this truck with the expectation that AutoNation would remove it.
“They were supposed to have done it and it looks like they didn’t do it,” Oberholtzer said. “How it ended up in Syria, I’ll never know.”
He began receiving calls about the truck and the picture on Monday afternoon, Oberholtzer said. By Tuesday he said his business had received a thousand calls and faxes about the image.
“A few of the people are really ugly,” he said.
It's sad that these hard working American vehicles are feeling the need to drop everything and fight for ISIS. A quick visit to the compactor for all them I say.
(It's also a fascinating look at ISIS' supply lines)
Also shows how retarded people are. Just because it's got his name on it doesn't mean he actually supports it you dumb fucks.
It's time to put trucks on the ground.
Ford is the manufacturer of peace
I'm kind of surprised that the ISIS guys didn't cover the logo with their own thing or something. Or maybe it's become a nickname for the trucks crew.
"The fighting is getting too hot here, where's the plumber??"
That truck has seen some shit. :v:
But you are absolutely clueless if you legitimately believe a small business endorse militants because one of their trucks made it to Syria.

The guy who brought it over probably said that it means "death to america" in english
It's weird starting to see relatively modern and familiar vehicles in service with insurgents now instead of the random Toyotas or local trucks.

Or maybe they're illiterate and think it's some holy phrase.

I guess they have the funding, so why not? Though, I think Super Duty trucks are sold locally there, since they often have arabic on their warning labels. So they are relatively cheap to buy and maintain (since parts are probably easy to get).
Mark-1? What the hell!
I wonder if the U.S bought it and sent it over there with others back when the insurgency in Syria seemed like a good thing.

I am really surprised it's worth it to import used cars all the way over from America to Syria.
These guys will attack your plumbing problems with relentless strikes against your western turds. No infidel clog will stand after the assault has begun. 10/10 would let them use a truck mounted .50 cal on my pipes again.
Oh god
Unclog the drains of jihad
Lay down Allah's pipes

This is probably both the best and the worst thing thats happened to him. On the down side, he's getting death threats and idiots calling him. On the up side, he's now internationally known.
I like how in the three years from him selling it to it appearing in the picture, not a single person even considered touching the decals on the truck :v:
I hope that truck gets captured intact and is given back to the business owner, and he parks that motherfucker right in front of his building for all too see.
Then years from now people will be like "what the fuck does a truck with a gun mounted in the back have to do with plumbing" and nobody will know.
reporting in kurwa where is problem
You funny motherfucker, I read that when I was in the middle of a fart and I hurt my butthole with the laugh-clench.

It's a competitive business.

i wonder if in 20 years they'll make a movie about the life of that truck, call it the workhorse or something, attatch spielberg to it
excellent service, they quickly found and solved the problem. however, i cannot get smell of hummus out of bathroom. 9/10
I was confused by the title so much until I read the article.

I'm not. I'm sure whoever procured it for them took one look at the sticker and said 'yup, we're leaving this on, itt'l cause heartache for the previous owner'.
So, car dealerships in the middle east bulk buy used cars from around the world. I will need to go to storage to get the thumb drive with pic to prove it (I will try to remember) but in 2006 and 2007 al-Anbar Iraq was FULL of Chevy Suburbans with US bumper stickers on them (also lots of Opels and 90s BMW sedans). We stopped one with a NC inspection sticker and Duke Basketball bumper sticker. I thought it was hilarious, especially because I was stationed in North Carolina at the time and most of my platoon was Tarheels fans. The poor driver was so confused.
It was wicked common to see bumper sticker and inspection stickers/tags from the US/ Europe/ and parts of East Asia.
Oh god, my sides are imploding.

What can you expect though? If you seen this photo with no knowledge about how it got there, and there is a phone number with a name on it, would you not be curious?
Perhaps they bought the truck because they needed something that could carry a payload? Those guns aren't light, and that's an F-250. By the look of it is, in fact a Diesel engine. For being a heavy duty truck they can be pretty quick and I'm sure they need to move an AA gun fast sometimes... In no way do I endorse it, but it's kind of smart. Those little toyotas and lighter trucks they have wouldn't be able to move that gun efficiently compared to that truck. Plus a big triple axle truck would be a way bigger target and more expensive
