HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Madison County deputies arrested a man accused of shooting four teenagers at a high school graduation party Tuesday night.
Officers responded to the shooting around 10:30pm Tuesday at a home on Michael Drive in Madison County.
Deputies arrested Trome Tousounteeha Nino Sibler-Lyons, 20 of Huntsville. Sibler-Lyons was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, and carrying a concealed weapon.
A partygoer said the event was a graduation party for students at Buckhorn High School, but students from Johnson High School and Alabama A&M were also there. Deputies said the shooting started after a fight broke out at the party.
HEMSI took two of the victims to Huntsville Hospital. The other two went in personal cars. One of the victims, a female, had surgery for a stomach wound.
The other three victims are males. Two suffered leg wounds. The third was grazed by a bullet. None of those injuries are life threatening.
As I've heard it, The shooter is just some asswad that showed up at the party uninvited, when a couple of guys told him to leave, retard pulls out a gun and starts shooting people. dozens of my underclassmen friends were there (I graduated last year) and I spent a good while this morning calling them just to see how they're doing.
Shit's crazy. Never expected this kind of bullshit to happen to my school, we're a small community :c
Are your friends okay
Why is he not being charged with attempted murder?
One can hardly fire a gun into a crowd of people intending to only 'assault' them.

Yeah they're all fine, just shaken the fuck up.

Considering only one required a surgery I imagine it might have been some tiny gun? I dunno, is shooting somebody with .22 considered attempted murder?
Either way this guy needs some close attention by some psychologists, this definitely isn't normal.
I almost went to collage at UAH. Its a cool place. Got like 3 Saturn V rockets.

yeah because the awful judgment of a few people represents the entire US DOJ...

Most fatal gun wounds in the US are caused .22, believe it or not.
that name is impressive

I think it's because they need intent to argue for attempted murder. It's fine if there is no motive, but charging somebody for intention is a much trickier affair with a risk of having to drop some charges when they can simply charge for a lesser offense and he'll still receive a serious sentence.
It's the 'playing it safe so this guy is off the streets soon' justice, not anti-justice.
yeah because the awful judgment of a few people represents the entire US DOJ...
If there was only some way to get those people with poor judgement in the U.S. Department of Justice out of there.....
Shooter didn't even go to our school, the fucker had no reason to be there.
yeah because the awful judgment of a few people represents the entire US DOJ...
Well, it seems to me that the US DoJ is full of people with poor or skewed judgment.
I was going to go to that party because I had a few friends at Buckhorn as well, thank fuck I didn't.

A .22 is actually pretty lethal.
When you look at something like a 9mm, the 9mm will enter and exit or it may enter and find a resting spot.
A .22, being a small and light round, will enter the body, hit a hard surface and bounce all around creating a nice little pocket of damage.
Just remember, a small round only means it has lower stopping power, does not mean it has lower lethality.
US justice system.
In order to get a murder charge you have to prove that it was premeditated. So you're little snark LOL US JUSTICE SYSTEM is stupid.

.22 caliber is used in the majority of firearm homicides almost worldwide
[editline]22nd May 2013[/editline]
There's a really nasty underestimation of it's capabilities because it's a low caliber round. Somebody doesn't need to die on contact in order for a bullet to be dangerous. Its perfectly easy to have a lung punctured, or you can simply bleed to death from the hole/s it left in you.
And because .22 caliber firearms are so cheap and numerous, it becomes the most used caliber of choice for random shootings.
If he fired randomly, then they might not even be able to prove he intended to hit anyone much less kill anyone.
The article says one girl got shot in the stomach. That shot might be enough to prove attempted murder on her, but again it has to be an aimed shot. Otherwise the current charges seem about right.
There are a lot of things you can do that could kill someone, like driving 100mph in a 25mph zone, but you won't get charged for attempted murder if you do those things. When I first read the name of the suspect I thought four or five guys shot up this party.

My ambulance ride didn't cost us that much really
then again our insurance payed for most of it I think so I don't know

Something the media and US Government love to ignore in favor of the big bad "assault" weapons.

Driving themselves, or having others drive, gets them to the hospital even faster, usually, and in a situation like this, that means quite a bit.
My heart goes out to your friends, OP.
I hope they recover soon.
wow that sucks man, but congrats on having friends

There's a huge difference. That's just recklessness. Pulling out your gun and continuously firing into a crowd of people, hitting several of them, is obviously intent to kill unless there was a mad struggle over the gun and he never meant to discharge it at all. Either way, assault and reckless endangerment seems a bit light of a charge for someone so violent and unstable. He probably needs mental help more than a prison sentence.
