Seven people were injured in a massive train collision in eastern Missouri early Saturday morning that took down a highway overpass, CBS affiliate KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, Mo., reports.
Source: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57586201/massive-missouri-train-collision-takes-down-highway-overpass/ Scary thing is that I've been over that overpass several times and I'm quite familiar with that area. Hell I know that highway as the "trainway" because of the railroad. i bet a huge discussion about how the USA's infrastructure compares to europe's infrastructure and why the USA's infrastructure is inferior in every way and how the US government is mismanaging funds and taxes is coming soon despite the fact a fucking freight train slammed into it
i bet a huge discussion about how the USA's infrastructure compares to europe's infrastructure and why the USA's infrastructure is inferior in every way and how the US government is mismanaging funds and taxes is coming soon despite the fact a fucking freight train slammed into it
if we gave more money to nasa none of this would have happened (User was banned for this post ("Meme crap" - Starpluck))
Any word on the cause?
One train rear ended another and then pushed the cars off the track hitting the pillars of the overpass causing it to collapse, that's what I've been hearing so aka somebody in Railway traffic control fucked up badly either that or the signals were fucked up.
if we gave more money to nasa none of this would have happened
if we elected ron paul none of this would have happened (User was banned for this post ("Meme crap" - Starpluck))
USA's infrastructure is inferior to EU's infrastructure in every way.
If the US had better gun control this could have been prevented! (User was banned for this post ("Meme crap" - Starpluck))
USA's infrastructure is inferior to EU's infrastructure in every way.
The infrastructure failures in the US recently makes it sound worse than China's.
The infrastructure failures in the US recently makes it sound worse than China's.
Ageing infrastructure.
Any more pictures from different angles? I wanna know how many vehicles were lost in those wrecked cars. Those look like brand-new Jeeps.
This has a few pics of the wreck, some are repeats unforunately. Train wrecks are scary. I sure hope this doesn't happen to me in my future railroad career. :tinfoil:
America is a "D" student when it comes to infrastructure. And basically every other aspect of city-building. http://www.infrastructurereportcard.org/a/#p/home
Train wrecks are scary. I sure hope this doesn't happen to me in my future railroad career. :tinfoil:
Don't worry, all you have to do if you see an oncoming train is swerve...oh...wait...
if we gave more money to nasa none of this would have happened (User was banned for this post ("Meme crap" - Starpluck))
Do we really need to ban people for this FFS
The infrastructure failures in the US recently makes it sound worse than China's.
US infrastructure is old and uncared for. Some Chinese infrastructure is crap from the get-go, depending on how corrupt the local officials or construction companies are. You've got the Three Gorges Dam on the one hand, and bridges made of nothing more than garbage and a light façade of concrete on the other.
Do we really need to ban people for this FFS
It's the only way they'll learn not to shit up every thread with it.
i bet a huge discussion about how the USA's infrastructure compares to europe's infrastructure and why the USA's infrastructure is inferior in every way and how the US government is mismanaging funds and taxes is coming soon despite the fact a fucking freight train slammed into it
Well now you mention it, the US Rail Network has one of the highest amounts of Deaths per Passenger Mile in the world :v: Like higher than India, and over twice that of China. Basically, its worse than most 3rd world countries. There. [editline]26th May 2013[/editline]
The infrastructure failures in the US recently makes it sound worse than China's.
It actually is. At least with rail.
It's the only way they'll learn not to shit up every thread with it.
If by "shit up" you mean make a joke which most people found funny hence the ratings.
It's the only way they'll learn not to shit up every thread with it.
But it's funny?
But it's funny?
It'd have become irritating very quickly if it had lasted longer than this page or the next, i'd bet. Better to cut it down in it's prime than let it wear on like an arthritic horse missing 3 legs.

Also how do trains collide they're on tracks.
Also how do trains collide they're on tracks.
As I said in a earlier post, somebody in traffic control fucked up or the signals that should say there was something on the tracks weren't working.
but I didn't intend to start a meme train :c Ah well, first day-ban in 4 years is now over. Also how do trains collide they're on tracks.
This really shouldn't ever happen. There are sensors that indicate if the upcoming segment of track is occupied by another train and are indicated on light signals near the beginning of each segment (or something like that). Something (or someone) fucked up somewhere.
