Pictures sparked a web frenzy Tuesday after setting July 7, 2011 as the date for the world premiere of the final installment of the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part 2. And online magicians, fan boys and Potter fanatics alike greeted the news that the event will take place in London's Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square with delight. "It's going to be huge," said one contributor to fansite HeyuGuys while another tapping into The Leaky Cauldron.org declared simply: "I'll be there! Yay, this will be fantastic!" Cast member Emma Watson's twitter account posted a link to the WB release. WB claims the event will be the first red carpet film premiere event in Trafalgar Square, a part of the British capital instantly recognizable to global audiences. The cast, filmmakers and guests attending the final Harry Potter premiere will start the evening on the red carpet in Trafalgar Square before strolling up the road to Leicester Square's movie theaters to watch the film. The Mayor of London Boris Johnson issued a statement on the plans: "For the last decade we've been gripped by the on-screen battle between Harry Potter and his arch enemy Lord Voldemort and this is one of the most eagerly awaited films in history. As befits a great British triumph, I can think of no better venue than the iconic surroundings of Trafalgar Square in which to stage the most spectacular of send offs for this dramatic finale". Warner Bros. Pictures U.K. president and managing director Josh Berger said: "We are delighted that our plans for the finale of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will take place in such a spectacular venue. We pride ourselves on the creativity of our premieres and the space within Trafalgar Square will lend itself to being a magical experience for both guests and fans." The final part is directed by David Yates, director of the last three films. The producers are David Heyman, the producer of all of the Harry Potter films, David Barron who has produced six of the films and creator J.K. Rowling. Steve Kloves adapted the screenplay. Lionel Wigram is the executive producer, with John Trehy and Tim Lewis as co-producers. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part 2 opens in cinemas across the U.K. and Ireland on July 15 2011.
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/harry-potter-deathly-hallows-part-162785
i figured it would be on the 4th of july but oh well cant wait!
omg i wonder what will happen Part 1 was ok, I'll probably see this if only to wrap up the movie series
*Weeks after release, once it goes out of theatres* WB: Now what? THE WIZARD: PARTS 1-7, A REMAKE OF HARRY POTTER the sad thing is, it'll probably happen
I still don't like how they had to cut A FUCKING MOVIE into parts. *snip but read quotes below to see what I said*
Oh my god. I'm so, so, so excited :3: But my childhood is coming to an end :saddowns: [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline]
I still don't like how they had to cut A FUCKING MOVIE into parts. This is as bad as Valve using episodic content.
I rather enjoy how they did the movie in parts for two reasons. One, it makes the whole HP experience last longer. And two, it allows the movie to go into a lot more detail compared to the single movies. Like the fourth one, for example. That had like, 25% of the book content. Longest book, shortest movie.

HOLY SHIT. It comes out on my birthday where i live! I hope my mom gets me tickets to this for my birthday.
why can't Harry Potter die already?
So it looks like I'm getting my dose of Emma Watson earlier than I expected
why can't Harry Potter die already?
Because they haven't finished all the movies yet. Durrr :downs: They're not gonna go through a seven part book only to stop one movie before the end.
why can't Harry Potter die already?
This is the last part to the last movie of the series.
Isn't that harry potter's birthday?
i really hope it won't be such a boring CHORE to watch as the first part. [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline] imho, the harry potter movies lost its charm ever since it was less about hogwarts.
Boring? For you perhaps!
So now I even have a set date for when my childhood ends and I can begin looking at growing up. It's probably about time, I'll be 19 by then.
I watched the first Harry potter when i was 6, i don't want this to end.
HP was a good part of my childhood, but imagine how much worse it will be for the main actors now. Half their life is acting in these movies [editline]2nd March 2011[/editline]
I watched the first Harry potter when i was 6, i don't want this to end.
Wow July 7? That's early compared to how I've been hearing October this year.
I felt part one was too long, but I do look forward to seeing this final part.
I don't really expect it to be an awesomely entertaining film in its own right, but I do like seeing how they portray scenes from the book - that's probably the only reason I've seen any past number five.
Guys, July 7 is the worldpremiere for the actors and cast. The rest of us has to wait.
Part 1 was so boring for me.
i figured it would be on the 4th of july but oh well cant wait!
I have no idea why you'd think that.
Sweet, finally I can appease my OCD.

I'm thinking they could've split them all in two parts.
i figured it would be on the 4th of july but oh well cant wait!
Why
"In other news, the final instalment of Twilight is set to come out July 6th." Just wait, it'll happen...
I have no idea why you'd think that.
because its a pretty big name movie
Hopefully the series will fade into obscurity now, I hear about the series every day and the conversations are nothing but discussing fanfics between Draco and (random male character, or author), or getting mad over character 1 in the actual books hooking up with character 2 instead of character 3.
