The Indian Express headline on Friday 16 May says simply: "Headline awaited". The headline appears to have run in all eight of the newspaper's regional editions, leading some analysts to suggest it was not a mistake. But Indians have taken to Twitter to comment on the surprise.
I wonder if the newspaper is going to spin this like some sort of political commentary about #modi. For extra info - during the Emergency in the seventies where the Indian media was censored, this same newspaper had brilliant editors who, in protest, published a blank section as their editorial. It's quite possible that, coming from them, this was also deliberate but was considered as a fail by people who don't "get" the inside joke.
At least they gave all the other papers a good story to headline.
