[quote]Trent Hodkinson is the toast of New South Wales after scoring the try that ended Queensland's eight-series State of Origin dominance on Wednesday at Sydney's Olympic stadium.
The Canterbury half-back, who was considering representing England at the start of the year, scampered over seven minutes from time and then kicked the winning two points to wrap up a 6-4 victory to hand the Blues a first series win since 2005.
In front of a record crowd of 83,421 - the largest at the venue since the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games - Laurie Daley's side edged out the Maroons in an absorbing and occasionally spiteful clash.
Tempers flared throughout from both sets of players in a match that produced little in free-flowing play but plenty in hard-nosed aggression.

Congratulations to the Blues, and condolences to the Maroons. It wasn't the most enjoyable game to watch but I won't complain about the result.
I was at work until midnight last night, so I couldn't watch this. I didn't even need to watch it to know the result; there were millions of statuses about it when I checked Facebook after work.
That game was so violent though.
If you were the kicker on the 5th tackle, you were as good as dead.
Exhibit A:

Te'o (left) is moving very quickly, the next frame was rather brutal.
Jonathan Thurston (QLD) also broke some long-standing point record.

He broke Mal Meninga's SOO record, 162 points or something. I barely remember Mal Meninga, except for his epic eyebrows.
There was also a hilarious moment when they were starting a play and Thurston reached around the teammate in front of him and slapped a blues player in the face so he'd think the other player did it.

you are the only one out of 22m people that dislikes a sport
take solace in that statistic
I knew this was coming. You could tell up here in Queensland, there was a lot of uncertainty after game 1. I doubt NSW can match a 8-year win streak though
