People say knife attacks are horrible and terrifying. Fact is, it's worse. You feel helpless and as if you don't own your body.

Crime is ever-present, regardless of the nation, the actual levels of crime may be entirely disconnected from the rate at which it is reported on, in either direction. You simply can not form an opinion just off news reports about the state of a nation (unless it's open war or something), because news agencies profit off of sensationalist news, no-one is gonna be interested in "another day without a stabbing!". Cue the next person who comes in and says everyone lives in fear in Sweden or something.

Both men are muslim, supposedly one of them was screaming "allahu akbar" during his arrest. Possible connections with Al-Shabaab. This is just going to fuel the hate fire even further.

Yeah, better to wait for a police statement Also, the man in charge for security for the large business organization (Handels i think it was, heard it on the radio last night) seemed to have a good answer to the question "How do you act now, more security?" "If someone wants to harm another, then they will manage it. Us having more security won't neccessarily stop that, but will be a hassle to normal people. The fact that it happened in a store meant that there was both first aid kits, people trained to use them and people to call for an ambulance nearby." Paraphrased, but the gist of it. I thought it was a rational way to look at it. Seems IKEA will stop having knives out though

Sources say that the 35-year old, the main suspect, just found out he was to be deported from Sweden just hours before the stabbing. [editline]12th August 2015[/editline] Edit: Actually he was to be immediately deported to Italy after an update about his status the 16th July. He may only have been informed about that update during the stabbing day.

And previous reports indicated this MAY have been a relationship despute, so gtfo with that nonsense.
