You should also ask what percentage of other religions think the same thing. How many Christians think violence against civilians is justified? How many Buddhists, Hindus, etc.?

There are some interesting inferences to be drawn from that chart.

One, unemployment is a big concern. People, no matter their background, ultimately want to be able to support themselves and their families. Concentrating large amounts of wealth in few hands while large portions of a population live in poverty leads to violence, who knew?

People who live in lands that seem to be in a state of perpetual war(ie Afghanistan) tend to have more extreme views, who would have guessed?

Good thing we here in the US aren't seeing either of those problems...

women would disagree, in fact islam main issue is pretty much their treatment of women, there is also the fact that i didn't see mentioned in this survey, that arabs as a whole tend be awfully racist against blacks and the fact the muslim nations seem awfully ok with slavery(see Qatar, saudi arabia, etc), its kinda sad when you think about the several of the nations that have this kinda of problems at its worst, are US allies...

I think that has more to do with the fact that they live in a culture where women have always been subservient to men, not due to Islam itself.
