Lot's of times it's cheerful.
Reggae is sort of like a look on life, populated by Bob Marley in the 70's or 80's, and it's pretty fucking awesome. Sadly, Bob Marley died of what I think was a heart attack or something, but his 11 kids help carry on the legacy.
Personally, my favorite Marley is Damian or Stephen: heres some tunes:

Correct me if I'm wrong but he died of foot cancer. He had to have it amputated, but due to religious beliefs refused, and died shortly thereafter.
