Michael Wolff's book raises concerns over Mr Trump's mental health. The president called Wolff a "total loser". Mr Trump tweeted he was mentally fit, adding that he was a "genius....and a very stable genius at that". The Camp David summit begins two weeks before the end of Mr Trump's first year in office. It will seek to tie up unfinished business by Republicans, who have rallied around Mr Trump during the release of Wolff's book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.

Mr Bannon and the author have both been the target of the president's ire over the past few days - the former cried when he lost his job last year, Mr Trump said; the latter had written a book "full of lies", he added. On Saturday morning, Mr Trump posted a series of tweets accusing rivals of trying to throw doubt on his mental wellbeing. "Throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart," he wrote. On Friday, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told CNN that he had "no reason to question" Mr Trump's mental fitness. He said Mr Trump was "not typical of presidents of the past".
Because nothing says "mentally stable" like repeatedly assuring everybody that you are a really smart genius and the most stable person ever. The leader of the free world, folks. The reference to Ronald Reagan isn't exactly helping his case here, either, as Reagan literally had dementia, which progressed into Alzheimers disease, and ultimately killed him. Are you saying that you do too, Trump?
Isn't it also blatantly untrue that he became president on his first try?
the Democrats and their lapdogs, the Fake News Mainstream Media, are taking out the old Ronald Reagan playbook and screaming mental stability and intelligence
So is he saying he is mentally unstable?
Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart
is trump coming out as a valley girl
and being, like, really smart
As spoken by a true genius.
He said Mr Trump was "not typical of former reality TV stars of the past".
I keep forgetting that I have this chrome extension enabled
POTUS on first try btw :v:
But the "regan playbook" actually turned out to be dangerously correct. He was not well at all through his second term and if it had progressed faster he could have seriously jepordised this country.
As spoken by a true genius.
That reads like a passage from Infinite Jest, Jesus.
You are far from a genius Trump boy. The fact that you say you are a "stable genius" confirms that you are not stable at all and your just a crazy egotistical moron.
and being, like, really smart
I actually laughed out loud when I read this.
Something about this just seems off to me. The fact that he deliberately types out the word “like” and with proper punctuation no less, it’s almost like he’s being ridiculous on purpose because he knows that’s what people expect and pay attention to. Judging from this morning’s headlines, that one sentence has gotten the most attention by far. It’s reminiscent of the way he says outlandish statements to distract from actual meaningful stories...makes me wonder if there’s a bombshell story breaking.
Very, uh, on the nose with his gaslighting today, huh?

Did Trump just say "Like, really" like some type of teenage white girl? Are you the commander in chief or some teenage girl who thinks she know everything about anything?
:snip: my merggeeee
:snip: my merggeeee
Sorry mate.
he used punctuation too and thats a big no no e: as amusing as it would be, this doesn't look real -- shareblue is mixed left bias on mediabiasfactcheck, and the only places where the quotes "celebrating" and "mentally unfit" appear are reddit posts citing shareblue, or insane hard-right fake news sites that don't even appear on MBFC and an insane headline like that would be on the front page on cnn or wapo

Appearing on Fox News to discuss the book’s charges of Trump’s unfitness, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders essentially resorted to the argument of “I know you are, but what am I?”
KILMEADE: That’s the president’s position on that. What’s yours? SANDERS: Look, I think it’s absolutely insane to think all of these individuals, reporters and others, who suddenly have a medical degree and think that they can diagnose somebody, many times who they’ve never even had a conversation with. It’s absolutely outrageous to make these types of accusations, and it’s simply untrue, and it’s sad that people are going and making these desperate attempts to attack the president. What I think is really mentally unstable is people that don’t see the positive impact that this president is having on the country. The economy is booming, we’re crushing ISIS, day after day things are getting better for Americans all over this country. And I think it’s really sad that these people don’t see that, and that they’re not celebrating and trying to join in the president’s efforts to turn our country around.

I went looking on YouTube and all I found was a shitty text-to-speech slideshow essentially acting as a video blog post. It included the Sanders quote but not any video clip from Fox News itself. But I found this appropriate source: Sanders: Americans who 'don't see Trump's positive impact' are 'mentally unstable'
Sanders further spoke during "Fox & Friends" on Friday saying, "I think it’s absolutely insane to think all of these individuals, reporters and others, who all of a sudden have a medical degree and think that they can diagnose somebody, many times that they’ve never even had a conversation with."
I'm sure the Fox & Friends clip from last night will surface eventually.
Show, don't tell
I really can't understand how people can look at statements like this and genuinely admire him. It's completely absurd to me.
Cannot wait till this shits over. Everyday is some new cringeworthy story.
you know i'm still sat here patiently waiting for Trump to totally wise-up, shape-up and become the most professional and successful president ever in the history of presidents. all those Trump supporters assured me that it would happen eventually but i have a sneaking suspicion they were talking bullshit

Like, Really smart Okay, he HAS to be self aware and is doing this on purpose, right?
I have never laughed more at anything he has said. These tweets are comedy gold.
The gaslighting continues.
At least Spicer seemed to be at least partially aware that he got stuck with the job of going on stage and explaining the ravings of an ageing narcissist. Huckabee-Sanders seems to actually buy into this horseshit.
