I was under the impression that we were moving towards making animal slaughter as humane as possible. Bashing their heads in don't help towards that goal.

There's no way they feel that grinder. I'm totally against the industrialization of the meat industry, animals should be killed humanely but I have to give it to them, this is the most humane method I can think of, as long as the machine is maintained properly.
