Nigel Farage downplays Trump's comments, no more than 'alpha male boasting' - Farage
Obscene remarks made about women by US presidential candidate Donald Trump were no more than "alpha male boasting", Nigel Farage has said.
The UKIP interim leader told Fox News the remarks were "ugly" but something "if we are being honest that men do".
Mr Trump's remarks, made 11 years ago, have led at least a dozen senior Republicans to withdraw their support from his presidential bid.

this is the rape culture that people keep referring to
Farage really, really wants his party to become irrelevant doesn't he?
He is completely politically irrelevant and should be ignored. I'm tired of that attention loving media dickhead putting his nose where it doesn't belong. He doesn't even give a damn about foreign politics - otherwise he would have done his job as an EU rep.
I'm glad your alt-right nonsense is being taken out, Farage. I gleefully await the day you're remembered as among the most idiotic British politicians ever in the history books.

I mean if it's a scummy person who says a lot of horrible shit all the time is it really evidence of rape culture? I mean it's Nigel Farage for godsake, he's basically OUR Trump.
By saying this he's made it even worse.
but something "if we are being honest that men do".
If chatting about how you sexually harassed a woman is something you consider a normal conversation topic you need to take a long, hard look at your life and decide where it all went wrong.
The ripple effect of Trump's comments is astounding.
surprise, surprise, one good for nothing human being backed up by another. It's true when they say birds of a feather always flock together.
"if we are being honest that men do"
Being sexist against men whilst defending sexism against women. That's quite a feat.
I don't say that shit fuck off Farage.
There's nothing alpha about being unwilling to recognize you fucked up. It takes courage to sincerely apologize.

Scumbags say scummy shit. Sometimes a scumbag runs for the presidency or holds a governmental office, I don't see how this proves "rape culture" lmao

Too add to this, Greek neo-nazi party Golden Dawn endorsed Trump a couple of days ago. :v:

You could cut and paste that sentence into literally anything.
Scumbags do scummy shit. Sometimes a scumbag shoots up a school, I don't see how this proves America has a serious problem "school shootings" lmao

Scumbags do scummy shit. Sometimes a scumbag who's a cop randomly shoots a black person and gets away with it, I don't see how this proves "racism" lmao
Still wouldn't make it any more true.
I don't understand how the right has manged to peg Donald Trump, a fairly unattractive man (even in his prime), who can't seem to keep a marriage together despite his wealth, and who was handed a large amount of wealth and has only managed to produce very underachieving returns for decades, as an "alpha male." He's basically the face of wasted potential.

Success is irrelevant to an "alpha male", having a shitty attitude is far more important.

Hasn't he been portrayed as a playboy for ages?
Way before he got involved in politics, I mean.

Oh, I see. "Alpha male" is a synonym for "twat."
Well then I agree, being an alpha male is Donald Trump's defining feature.

Yeah I'm still astounded at the defense people are trying to make, as if dudes casually discuss grabbing women by the pussy as some normal everyday thing.

The millions of people defending his words are.

If he started with a small loan of 1 million, and is now at 3.7 billion, how is that underachieving? Is there something he did?

I think it's relatively smart, in a machiavellian sort of way.
The main demographic that Trump is alienating with this are women, not men. And if you describe this as regular male banter, essentially labeling men as pigs, you are making the pill easier to swallow. You are normalizing this predatory comment, making it banal even, and minimizing its overall importance.

I think what he was saying that since it was just one or two people, it doesn't prove that a nation of millions has some deep issue. And if it really were just one or two average joes off the street saying this, he would have a point. The plural of "Anecdotal" is not "Evidence."
However, we are not talking about some random person. We are talking about someone running for president. Trump still has a substantial voting base who support his policies and things he says, like this. We are no longer talking about one or two people, bit a significant percentage of the nation. That is not something to scoff at, when you have that many people supporting ideas like this, that IS the point when you have a problem

Trump claimed he was worth 200 million in 1976. Even if you take his own estimate of his worth today (which no one takes seriously) he would have made more money if he stuck his 200 million in an index fund and let it sit there.

he is still worth over 400 times what he did back then, and why would no one take his worth seriously? You still leave a lot of what-ifs and questions.

It's easy to believe that men don't talk like this around each other in the real world if you sit at home playing video games all day.

How is 200 million to 10 billion (his claims) a 400x increase?
What matters is not whether or not his money increased. When you have money like that, it had better increase. Losing it all when you have worth like that is a statistically insanely rare occurrence. What matters is that he drastically underperformed (by half, in fact) expected returns in the real estate market over 40 years. By his own estimation! He claims to know business, but apparently he knows it below average for a real estate investor.

Donald Trump should have listened to you, you seem to be a money making expert, how many billions do you have again?

There have been multiple people debunking this, who have worked in radically different environments, in several threads.
Just because we don't consider this normal (it's not), doesn't mean we don't socialize enough.
I cant believe I lived to see the day a political figure used the term "alpha male" unironically, and in this context no-less.
