When there is a complaint about curriculum board members put together a committee- six members, including the high school's principal, a biology teacher, a parent and a student. Even though a few of the members thought the material was "questionable," the committee ultimately said it's "appropriate for an honors level biology course." Local papers report Zimmerman pulls a quote from page 319 in the book, Asking About Life, where creationism is described as, "the biblical myth that the universe was created by the Judeo-Christian God in 7 days."[/quote]

I don't necessarily agree or disagree with that father on this. Is evolution false? Chances are, no. However, there is nothing that says evolution means atheism. Theistic evolution is a somewhat popular belief, the belief that evolution was used by a Diety to create the world. However, the book shouldn't bash Christians or theistic evolution, regardless of scientific belief.

Even if you believe in theistic evolution creationism is still a myth. Just because the book says that it's a myth(which basically means it is a story that has no evidence to support it) doesn't mean they are bashing it.
