it's a shortening of the english word "initiation", basically in the MANLY finnish "protect ze country from evil russians WINTER WAR FUCK YEAH" culture going through the conscription army makes you a real man (one of those stupid old fashioned things most 40-80 year olds believe in) and if you decide to do civil service instead, you get branded as a faggot by said people

INT", with the INT part, whatever it meant, leading directly to the word Intti

Yeah the same thing is up here in Ostrobothnia. I mean the army is "fun" in the way that you make buddies for life. But all in all I really don't think we need conscription anymore. And they really bash on the people doing civil service, which is so god damn stupid.
