They could either nail this perfectly or screw it up so bad. I hope they have a multiplayer mode where it's Jason [sp]or his mother[/sp] vs the college students.
KEH KEH HAH HAH KEH KEH HAH HAH. I am curious, wonder how the game will play.
Did the voice acting seem kinda bad to anyone else?
Did the voice acting seem kinda bad to anyone else?
I want to say that it's a nice throw back to the acting in the original film but I think I'd be giving this too much credit. Hopefully it'll all improve.
The stuff on the kickstarter page sounds really promising, I hope this isn't a disappointment
They can do that? What about licensing?
What happened to that other Kickstarter MP horror game? Did they get an official deal with WB and repurpose their original KS as this? Because Gun Media sounds familiar. [editline]13th October 2015[/editline] Oh yeah it was these guys
We were already building Slasher Vol.1: Summer Camp, and we've been creating and testing an internal prototype for some time now. You may recall that we announced Summer Camp last Fall via IGN. Soon after, Sean Cunningham personally reached out to us behind the scenes. That’s when things got awesome. Sean came to us in early 2015, but we quickly discovered these weren’t the normal business conversations you would have when you try to secure a license as important as Friday the 13th. It was totally different. It was a conversation built on mutual admiration and respect for what each had created. Sean immediately noticed the passion we had for Friday the 13th, and after several incredible meetings over the next few months, we decided to upgrade our plans for Summer Camp and embrace the Friday the 13th video game license. After several incredible meetings over the next few months, Sean surprised us by offering the Friday the 13th video game license. It was literally a dream come true for a group of lifelong fans. He knew he could trust us with the most coveted horror IP ever, and we plan to make good on that promise to both him and you, the millions of loyal Friday the 13th fans around the world.

I hope they have a multiplayer mode where it's Jason [sp]or his mother[/sp] vs the college students.
From the Kickstarter page.
What is Friday the 13th: The Game? Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person, asymmetrical multiplayer title where one player controls Jason Voorhees while the remaining seven control camp counselors trying to survive the night. That's right...1v7 multiplayer set in the semi-open world of Camp Crystal Lake! It's a classic horror fan's dream, no shaky cam, no found footage.
There was another Kickstarter(besides the one already mentioned in this thread) that had the same L4D/Evolve concept. Anyone remember what that one was called?
This concept has potential, but can be screwed up very easily. It has to be extremely well balanced, or players will just learn all the exploits and easiest ways to win very quickly. And it would break the atmosphere completely. I'll still follow this with interest.

Do you split up and let the Nerd go fix the generator while the others search for gas and risk the nerd getting Killed by going alone? Or do you stick together and protect each other? If the Nerd gets killed then the lights will be out forever since nobody is left to fix it, so the only possible way to find your way around would be to use flashlights now. Do you send the Jock to protect him? What about the medic? If the Killer decides to target the medic and she dies then nobody is left to heal the group. You need to think carefully about when to split up and when to stick together. Protecting each other and hiding is essential.
Wonder if there's other versions of Jason than the New Blood one.
You're dead. Your friends are dead. Your family's dead. Your fucking pets are being skinned alive. Your mom's a fucking whore. You suck at life. The whole world hates you. You're going to Hell. Live with it. Game Over
the good ending you are the only one that survives, but due to the horror that was unleashed upon you, you put on Jason's mask and become the next Jason.
Wonder if there's other versions of Jason than the New Blood one.
I imagine the plan is to have different levels based on the different movies, with different jasons.
Wonder if there's other versions of Jason than the New Blood one.
One of the stretch goals should be this thing lmao
I'm one of the backers for Last Year and the guys behind it definitely got in bullshit-trouble for having similarities to Friday the 13th despite all laws saying it was okay. And just after that, they decided that they were going to make a Friday the 13th game with the exact same premise. Personally I am looking forward more to Last Year.

Holy shit Tom Savini is part of the team and Jason is being mocapped by the guy who played him in the movies.
It's licensed though?
Well, they removed the mask but Warner Brothers were still not happy and wanted to take over the entire thing apparently.
New Blood Jason looks the most menacing. I hope this turns out well.
So it's basically them trying to compete with Last Year. Kinda a dick move, but I'm hoping it will be good nonetheless.
;48894456']So it's basically them trying to compete with Last Year. Kinda a dick move, but I'm hoping it will be good nonetheless.
how's it a dick move? I just see it as more competition for a genre
Absolutely, games like Until Dawn especially have tapped into the market of gamers who unashamedly love Slasher movies. And all Slasher movies are the same. You watch Friday 13th, you probably love Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween. It's a huge market and you can really have fun with it, I'd love to see more games like this.
how's it a dick move? I just see it as more competition for a genre
Because Last Year is an independent Kickstarter with a somewhat original idea of a slasher fic game, and then Warner Brothers comes along and tries to fuck them over, and then they have the balls to KICKSTART their own game even though they got plenty of money.
How's Last Year doing? I wanted to back it but didn't get money in time before the kickstarter closed.
Where was the chick in the preview picture? I was looking forward to that
