Microsoft is offering a sweet deal over the next week to gamers looking to buy an Xbox One.
Between September 7 and September 13, Microsoft will give one free game to anyone who buys an Xbox One, Xbox One with Kinect, Xbox One Madden NFL 15 bundle, or Xbox One Forza Motorsport 5 bundle, the company announced on Thursday.
so they've adopted a marketing model that has been used in the mainstream for over 10 years
This would be nice if they were exclusives and weren't a straight upgrade on another platform.

Which consoles have let you choose a game for free, as opposed to bundled games, exactly?
Pretty sure the downfall of this promotion is that it's US Only
Which consoles have let you choose a game for free, as opposed to bundled games, exactly?
Consoles that have multiple bundles to choose from; See the Wii U and the jillions of Sega Genesis bundles
They chose the more retarded games for this.. either they're old (like CoD:Ghosts) dirt cheap (most of the games listed) or just released & $60 (Diablo 3 Console Edition)
I mean seriously like the only game worth choosing is Diablo 3 and maybe Titanfall, the rest are far too low in value
hey
free is still free
As far as I can remember, pretty much every console I've bought has come with a free game.
This isn't exactly a groundbreaking reason to buy an Xbone.
It's like a sort of okay buy one, get one free deal.
Problem is, you're buying an Xbox One, so a single game is not enough. If you're gonna invest in an Xbox One, get at least 5 games with it instead of just one. If they made it like "Pay an extra 50 euroes" and get 2 for free, that'd be better, then you'd have 2 games to play instead of just one.
You guys will always find something to shit on Microsoft about

couldn't you get the exact same deal by going for this and using the extra 50 euro to just buy a game?
Half-Life 3
I remember the old days man... I went to a store and bought ps2 and it had no game with and the employee there noticed that I was kinda sad because of the lack of a free game, then she told me : come with me we went downstairs where there were a shit ton of games on sale and she showed me like 15 games on a shelf and told me : Choose one and take it.
I'm not sure I'm liking the new design of the console for this special offer..

but yeah, I'm happy microsoft has been realizing the many things that they've done with xbox one, starting first with the DRM policies announced back at E3 2013 that they completely reversed because of backlash; all the way to the screwing over of devs over the initial forced purchase of the kinect 2 to MSoft recently selling the systems without the kinect (where it used to be required with the console, and provided safety for kinect 2 devs knowing people would have the kinect with the system). So if anything, things will only keep getting better. They need to bring that xbox live free game program from xbox 360 to xbox one aswell, just maybe limit it to indie/arcade games and rarely a new game on xbox one.
This really sounds like "Buy now, and you get to play with the console absolutely free!"
Yeah, this would be great if it wasn't for one thing, I'd then own an Xbox One, and that'd be horrible.
hey
free is still free
You still have to buy an Xbox.
The best part is being able to buy a bundle and the free game, so you get two games with it.
You guys will always find something to shit on Microsoft about
We dont need to find any reason at this point.
They shit on themselves just fine.
I wonder when the next big console will be released, instead of the Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony monopolies.
too bad 5 of the six games are complete shit. Aren't plants and zombies free anyways? I know it has TONS and TONS of dlc.
oh and you aren't really saving money with xbox lives free games for gold program, you still have to pay for gold to begin with
you could instead buy a 60$ game a year or a 10-20$ game per month and save more money because of steam sales
hey

its really not that much of a deal though, every console I've owned before has done this

Maybe it would be better if this deal didn't only last 6 days
Consoles that have multiple bundles to choose from; See the Wii U and the jillions of Sega Genesis bundles
That's not the same thing but what ever. You guys just keep going, this whole thread is pretty shit tbh
Pretty sure the downfall of this promotion is that it's US Only
Then again, Microsoft has shown that they don't give a shit about anyone outside of the US, so it shouldn't come as a surprise.
It's good for people that wanted to buy it in the first place. I'm expecially surprised that the promotion is valid on consolle versions that bundle a game already, like the Forza or the NFL ones. That way you get the consolle plus two games and that's cool.
That said, I'm not really interested in a xbone and the selection of games is nothing to write home about. Like aren't Titanfall and Diablo III locked behind the online paywall?
Please buy our Kinect, pleeeaaaassseee.
This would be a good deal if there were actually any exclusives on the 'bone :v:
Honestly why would people complain about this? I won't call it gamer entitlement, but it just seems dumb.
As it says in the article, Destiny is released on the 9th, and I suppose some people might want that?
-snip, misread article-
The only things in that list I even find interesting are Reaper of Souls and Titanfall.
Come on microsoft, you can do better than that.
