"Unfortunately we do not have any details yet of how this will be done and when."
And somehow, I'm still skeptical. I'll believe it when I see it. Please, I need Dead Rising 2 with Steam Works support, if only to preserve the coop mode.
I'm a big fan of this trend.
They'll probably integrate steamworks into their games, like Company of Heroes
Fuck yes
So I can finally play Lost Planet 2 with friends without having to spend 4 minutes at a time going through GFWL? Woop.
Wonder if FROM will ever do it to Dark Souls Really unlikely but still hoping for it
Maybe they will also add Case Zero and Case West to Dead Rising 2 PC... Just maybe.
Maybe they will also add Case Zero and Case West to Dead Rising 2 PC... Just maybe.
One could hope, but I doubt it. It's not like you can get them on GFWL either. Sad, cause Case Zero actually has some pretty cool outfits that unlock in the main game if you own it.
Wonder if FROM will ever do it to Dark Souls Really unlikely but still hoping for it
I thought people were saying Dark Souls was confirmed to be headed to Steam Works?
maybe now i can finally play dead rising 2 again
YES. My brother bought DR2 but we can't play because GFWL is ruining it.
I thought people were saying Dark Souls was confirmed to be headed to Steam Works?
Don't know; I heard people saying they confirmed it on Facebook but they deleted the post moments afterwards [editline]20th October 2013[/editline] Also playing Dead Rising 2 OTR without GFWL is gonna be amazing
I really hope Rockstar says soon that they'll remove GFWL from GTA IV
I really hope Rockstar says soon that they'll remove GFWL from GTA IV
Sadly they probably wont... they might give some concession on the pc version of gtav to make up for it. Seems the easiest path.
Thank god, bought DR pack with a friend and if we never got to play it I'd cry.
YES. I bought Dead Rising 2: Off the Record for my sister during last Steam sale, in hopes that we would play coop. Too bad that GFWL was so broken that she could not even get into the game, let alone play coop.
cool I just used up my one freebie refund on DR2 because GFWL broke it and I bought it at 75% off!
Sadly they probably wont... they might give some concession on the pc version of gtav to make up for it. Seems the easiest path.
it'd be dumb for Rockstar to not remove GFWL and I wouldn't be surprised if a patch is in the works, giving some sort of concession with gtav isn't fair for people who aren't going to purcahse it but have IV
-got it-
And of course, Microsoft fucks up the shutdown date of GFWL by making it happen mid-2014, when it should be by the end of this year.
Microsoft did that so game developers could figure out what to do and to move their games on different platforms, this shit isn't as simple as pressing delete you know and it takes a bit to incorporate steamworks and move everything over, so all the achievements from xbox to steam
Just a quick warning, when GFWL was removed from Arkham Asylum/City everyone's saves were deleted as they were tied to their GFWL account. So if you haven't finished your game yet, you better should start doing so.
I have never played these games and I probably never will, but any event where GFWL is removed is a great success in my book.
Wonder if FROM will ever do it to Dark Souls Really unlikely but still hoping for it
When's Dark Souls 2 due? If they could give Dark Souls a significant improvement update like removing GFWL and have it ready for Steam's bigger sales it could get people interested in the genre.
Does that mean Dead Rising 2 co-op will finally be playable? Bought two copies for me and a friend but we couldn't even play together cause of GFWL.
I got the costume DLC's. Will I lose them?
When's Dark Souls 2 due? If they could give Dark Souls a significant improvement update like removing GFWL and have it ready for Steam's bigger sales it could get people interested in the genre.
March next year.
*furiously waiting for GTA IV patch to remove GFWL*
I got the costume DLC's. Will I lose them?
They might give the DLCs out to everyone like BioShock 2 did.
I hope the co-op mode for Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record will work. I bought Off the Record for my friend but co-op mode didn't work for him at all, so I wasted my money.
I've beaten Dead Rising 1 on my friend's 360 and had a massive blast, I for example got that insane Zombie Genocider achievement. Naturally I feel very invested in the series and I got the sequel where I played about half-way through before I got a new computer and had to reinstall the game. I then however had lost my GFWL loggin info and can't for the life of me remember what it was named or which one it was of the various GFWL accounts I've made in the past when I've forgotten the info and had issues retrieving it. Needless to say I hate GFWL with a passion as when it's not making it a pain in the ass to play my games it's outright refusing to let me play them. This recent trend is good news at its finest.
