North and South Korea have agreed to hold reunions later this month of families separated since the Korean War, Seoul said Wednesday. The reunions are an emotive issue. And time is running out for many of the surviving members of the families that were split by the 1950-53 war between the two Koreas. A lot of them are now in their 80s and 90s.
Not really new, but this will be the first time the North allowed reunions since 2010. http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/05/world/asia/north-korea-family-reunions/index.html?c=world
ITS A TRAP! seriously its probably a trap to catch dissenters
I thank my lucky stars everyday that I don't wake up in NK. I can't believe how long some these families have had to wait just because of the stupid governments that keep them away. I can only wonder what will happen regarding NK in the next 10 years I also wonder if that one guy that loved NK so much ended up getting his wish of going there; good thing he's not here anymore
It's really sad to think that for some older relatives, this could be their last visit
I kind of miss crazy old RAYHALO
Meh, I don't. He didn't have any resale value, so to say; you get the same joke all the time and that tends to wear off after a while.
I feel like I missed out on RAYHALO, I never got to see him post
I feel like I missed out on RAYHALO, I never got to see him post
You didnt miss much. After the initial shock/comedy value of his retardedness it was pretty much all the same.
I feel like I missed out on RAYHALO, I never got to see him post
I'll try to give you the simulated experience then. Ahem. The North Koreans have always supported this move! It's those South Koreans that don't want their citizens finding out how great it is there that finally relented.
ITS A TRAP! seriously its probably a trap to catch dissenters
They've done it in the past with no issues.
These meetings must be so strange. They have different accents, heights and completely different cultures. Not to mention that they both probably have to watch what they say.
Seoul, South Korea (CNN) - North Korea says it may back out of the family reunions it agreed to hold with South Korea if the latter continues with the annual drills it holds with the United States.
Well that was fast.
