Chonch has been legendary in refusing to admit any link between Manafort and Trump, and believes that this indictment has nothing to do with the investigation into Trump's collusion with Russia. Unless his position has radically diverted from previous threads discussing the mounting evidence against Manafort, he seeks to spin this as "case closed, we finally got that sneaky Manafort," rather than, "the man who literally ran Trump's campaign is now a proven financial link to the Kremlin."

I hope it doesn't take long to find out what all the charges are, for Manafort there's a long list of potential options.

For Manafort to be taken in like this, the charges must be ironclad. Insurmountable evidence has ever stopped Trump from lying through his teeth before, but his advisers are most likely recommending the former. The best PR move is to throw Manafort under the bus and pretend like the case is closed.
