Oh GOP, you crazeh.
Also TITLE is a bit misleading. It was suppost to be "GOP trying to suppress College Voters"
College voters, in other words, educated people tend to become more liberal while they go through the school system. The Democratic party taps into this enthusiasm of youth and apparently are trying to take that out.
This seems so utterly, blatantly unconstitutional that I can't fathom anyone actually putting this bill forward.

Yup, it's pretty disgusting what GOP is doing.Everyone has a right to vote.

Except GOP.
I'm fairly convinced that the GOP is trying (and unfortunately, succeeding) to run America into the ground as much as possible just out of spite.
Really? That's what you want to do? You want to create a huge shitstorm just so you can say to the Democrats, "Nanny nanny poo poo, stick your head in doo doo"?
Immature and childish, something I don't expect from political leaders.
I don't know what politicians you speak of, but I've always assumed this was what politics was all about.
Unfortunately, it is what it is.
Looking forward to how Glenn Beck is going to rationalize this.
wow what a condescending prick
"they're just young and foolish liberals voting with their icky feelings"

Oh god, i laughed hard.
I loved the prop play at the end. Imagine a 60 year old republican doing that. :v:
It scares me that we elect people this stupid in America.
Wait, what?
Didn't we learn anything from Vietnam? If this even has a shot of passing there's gona be protests up the arse

I think the only thing that the us learnt from nam is that the north viets can shoot and that no one likes a draft, especially if the rich get to dodge it.
GOP as usual
The GOP is to bad legislation and horrible ideas as gatling guns are to bullets.
I really can't understand why anyone would actually like the Republicans. I really can't.
Then again, last summer I was debating with one of my old neighbors about environmental policy and global warming. He said that the global warming thing was being overhyped to get the 'green industries' money. I pointed out that a lot of the anti-global-warming stuff was just made up so the oil companies could get money. He said, and I quote:
"What's wrong with the oil companies getting money?"
Keep in mind, this was a month or so after Deepwater Horizon.

Kind of like what Michele Bachmann did?
We try to give health care to 30 million Americans without it and we're socialists/communists/fascists. So what do we call them when they take away our right to vote?
?
No. We call them the GOP.
Disenfranchisement is best enfranchisement.
I love how he says 'I did it, i voted with my feelings". It's this kind of rational disconnect that just plagues all of the GOP and Tea Party.

FTFY. I wouldn't be surprised if it did happen.
The US fascinates me. In Britain we have three major parties, and in my opinion they're all a bit so-so, at least at the moment. I have my allegiances, but I can't really go "those guys suck dick, those guys rock". But in the States, there's just the Good Party and the Bad Party. The Republicans are pantomime villains, it's amazing. Not once do they come up with a good idea, handle an issue well, or take an acceptable stance. Not once do they do a good thing. There is no middle ground. Every single thing they do would be greeted with raucous laughter if proposed in my country. But 50% of the US actually supports these lunatics. How does a country get to be like this? If a party with the same ideology and practices popped up in Britain, they'd be called 'far right' and laughed out of the political mainstream.
It must just be because of the two-party system, and because governments are so rarely liked no matter how good of a job they do, the Republicans can do whatever the fuck they want because they know they'll be back in office in a couple of years anyway.

It stems from American exceptionalism and the incessant need to be different than the rest of the world, even if the only alternative is to be worse.
"They just vote with their feelings".
Okay, just what else should someone use to consider who to vote for?

Money and lies.
Oh, I'm sorry, that must have been offensive to some of those reading this.
I meant 'fair' and 'balanced' reporting.
It would be funny if it wasn't so fucking frighteningly stupid.
I wonder what historians and political experts will have to say about the current state of the Republican party in the future. Nothing too flattering, I bet.
The first thing Republicans always do when they get into power is try to keep Democrats from being able to regain it. Every new Republican governor isn't trying to bust unions to balance the budget, it's all about destroying the principal funding sources of Democrats so they can't put up a fight in the next election. They don't give a shit about anything but preserving their own power.

Hang on, didn't Bush ruin the economy? Wait, never mind, its from a pro-Republican site, so its mostly against liberals. Plus, its Coulter, she isn't the brightest bulb, just like Palin and Bachmann.
Isn't suppressing voters and trying to force them to vote Republican well, unconstitutional? Wait, its okay since its Republicans who are doing it, I love the two party system. Now, can we see a three-party system and stop this whole fucking crazy shit we have in Congress right now?

I can see it now, Palin/Beck 2016-2020, or how America almost uninvented electricity and went into a dictatorship.
Okay, seriously, the republicans are digging themselves in a deeper hole, and instead of going back up, they are focused on getting back in power, and trying to destroy the President's career or work, just because the President is a Democrat.
