People keep bring up brexit as a reason trump will win.
There is a big difference between the two US has polls every single day for a year where as brexit had a few and people thought it was a joke.

the common factor is that people didn't go to the polls because they didn't think their own political preferences would actually lose; a lot of people thought everyone else would vote enough so that they didn't have to

I don't think it's that. I think it's in part because of the way our system works(My vote is pointless because TN is such a ridiculously die-hard GOP stronghold that it's still redder than a stop light despite all of Trump's fuckery and their electoral votes are going to him anyway) and in part because the voterbase is fucking tired of the bullshit. We have the two least likeable candidates on the ballot we've ever had. Their [i]combined[/i] approval rating is lower than Obama or Romney's ever was. The only reason Hilary stands a chance at the White House is because Trump is such a massive shitlord, she'd be crushed by pretty much anyone else that's run in recent memory. Sanders, McCain, hell even Romney, Bush, Gore, her own husband, they'd all trounce her without even having to try. She's a terrible candidate with zero redeeming qualities and Americans HATE her, but they also HATE Trump juuust slightly more. He's simply [i]more terrible[/i].
God, what are future historians gonna say about 2016? That we elected someone we loathed because the only other option was even more loathed?
Honestly I'd almost say give Carter another chance. The tough son of a bitch seems hell bent on punching the Reaper in the face, surely he can handle a couple more years in there. Even he was a better president than either of these two ever could be...and he is eligible. He only served one term.

2. Alleged crime she broke wouldn't be punishable with death penalty.
