'Fallout 4' Is Apparently Happening, Gets Teased By Three Dog Voice Actor
Fallout 4 may be in development. Word of its development was teased by the voice actor behind Three Dog.
It's been a long time coming, and we all knew it was going to happen, but Fallout 4 is apparently a thing. It's been rumored to be in development for some time now, with some of its earliest rumors being traced back to Reddit about a year ago when a poster who claimed to be from M.I.T. said that game developers from Bethesda were scouting Boston for the setting in which Fallout 4 would take place.
Some of the colleges surrounding Boston, like Harvard and MIT, would be a perfect place to set the game due to the VaultTec project's likelihood of having a few vaults situated in the vicinity of America's most prestigious centers of learning. As the birthplace of the American Revolution, it'd also allow for an interesting post-apocalyptic take on the foundation of a new United States of America.
Today, the voice actor of ThreeDog, Erik Todd Dellums, teased a return of his role as ThreeDog in an upcoming project over his Twitter account.
He wrote: "To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!"
"How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed."
When Dellums did not clarify whether he was referring to the development of Fallout 4 or something else, he decided instead to retweet someone who suggested that ThreeDog would be in the Fallout sequel, who jokingly added that it could be a movie.
The likelihood that Fallout would be turned into a movie anytime soon is slim given Bethesda's reluctance to license it out to any Hollywood studio. Furthermore, the chance that ThreeDog would feature in such a film—especially as a voice actor—is even more unlikely as casting wouldn't even take place long after the script has been written and pre-production is in place.
With that in mind, there's a strong chance that Dellums is referring to Fallout 4 and nothing else. Given that the character itself is owned by Bethesda, it's unlikely that he's referring to a fan-made project or anything of that nature, either.
We'll keep our eyes peeled for any further developments about the game.
I killed three dog so I could wear his awesome glasses and hat
[sp]It wasn't worth it[/sp]

i just nuked megaton and went straight to rivet city so i never got to meet him :(
I'd be disappointed to see Bethesda make another Fallout game, they should leave it to Obsidian.

eh, new vegas was decent. But it lacked the narrative focus of fallout 3.
Fuck, now my keyboard's all sticky and I need a clean pair of pants.

I'll take the improved gameplay mechanics over unfocused narrative thank you very much.

Narrative focus? Seriously? Did we play the same Fallout 3? The story was dumb as hell and I immediately forgot about it after I got out of the vault, making it an afterthought that I eventually got around to after doing the more fun stuff.

It's spelled linear*

Riiight.
I liked Three Dog well enough the first couple of times I heard him, but Christ, did he get annoying fast. But his station had the best music, so I had to bear with it.
Oh yeah and without a doubt Obsidian is better then Bethesda. Just look at Old World Blues.

Bethesda does a good job in my opinion.

AAAAAAWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
New Vegas was so fucking buggy, I'd rather Bethesda made the next one
then books arent for you
It's a good thing Fallout isn't a book then. It's an a RPG in which your choices are meant to change the outcome. FO3 may as well of just been a sandbox FPS.
eh, new vegas was decent. But it lacked the narrative focus of fallout 3.
I didn't like FC3 for its lore rape and empty barren landscape, NV had much more of a community feel to it and was colourful in story-line, quests and atmosphere. Everything felt very green in F3 and very one dimensional.
Imagine if FC3 was molded with New Vegas in terms of looks and scenery, would of easily been my GOTY.
Also what was so great about FO3s plot again?

oh man i had almost forgotten.
I remember that the start town doctor had some sort of demonic possesion, spinning his head around and humping the floor during the introduction.
If this is really happening, I sure hope its made with current gen hardware in mind. Not that I'm opposed to a new/better engine and all that.
Holy christ the circlejerk in this thread...
I hope they learned from New Vegas.
The Capital Wasteland was a desolate, boring place with no character.
eh, new vegas was decent. But it lacked the narrative focus of fallout 3.
For a videoGAME, I'll take GAMEPLAY over story any day.
And Fallout 3 story sucked massive dick anyway.
FO3 was okay but what it did to Fallout lore was disgusting and it's plot left me wanting.
the new vegas story was worse than 3 imo
at least it had throwbacks to 1 and 2 though
Fallout 3 was just as buggy, if not more so, it's probably Bethesda's buggiest game.
It was no where near as buggy, I suffered from far less bugs in fallout 3 than vegas. Got fucking horrible graphical glitches and all kinds of shit with NV, never had anything like that with fallout 3.
Although Fallout 3 fucked me over when Rothchild decided to vanish into thin air so 3 certainly had it's problems.
I would love it if FO4 would have a new terrain to explore, but you could go back to the place of FO3, only years later, and if you have a save from FO3, you'd see some remnants of what you did.
Also I can't wait to play a fallout game on the update engine of skyrim.
