SYDNEY — An orphaned premature infant whose parents were killed in a car crash died in an Australian hospital on Wednesday, the same day her parents were buried.
Sydney's Royal Hospital for Women said 3-week-old Lucy Schollbach passed away of complications associated with her premature birth. She was born 12 weeks early on Sept. 1, weighing just under 3 pounds.
Story: Truck crash orphans 13-day-old premature girl
Her parents died in a car crash last week while driving home from one of their twice-daily visits to the hospital. Justin Schollbach, 42, and Leah James, 33, were buried hours after their daughter died.
It had been a very difficult day for the bereaved family, Schollbach's childhood friend India Bent told Australia's Herald Sun newspaper.
"She passed away this morning, wanted to be with her mom and dad I think," Bent added. "It's been a very hard day ... the funeral was today for both the parents.
"(Lucy) was Justin's first child, a long-awaited first child."
James had five other children, aged between 6 and 15, the paper said.
:saddowns:
At least she didn't have to grow up as an orphan :saddowns:
At least the parents didn't have to suffer through this.
I'm speechless.
Hearing about the death of an entire family is just depressing.

Or worse, one of these children's homes or with abusive adoptive parents.
Thats so sad, that my sad meter just reseted and made me happy. Then sad one more time.
Honestly? That is one of the most fucked things I ever did read about.
That's an absolute tragedy, no two ways about it.
I don't even want to make a pun about this... absolutely awful.

It was premature. Premature ones die quite often.

Much worse for them as well.

Believing that they'll get to meet eachother in the afterlife makes this a tiny bit less sad... But it's still depressing.

If my very limited knowledge of christianity is right, I think they believe all babies are born in sin which they have to work off over the course of their life.
So if your christian then technically its going to hell.

Actually it's going to limbo unless the baby was baptized. The church has said that limbo is supposed to be a state of "maximum natural happiness."
Aka, the baby is not going to hell, but it's not really going to heaven either.
How about we not go into religion and just keep it the way it is.
We don't know where they are however we DO know that they are no LONGER HERE.
fuck people

Or worse, according to some Christian sects you have to be Baptized to go to heaven, so I guess it's hell with her.
