ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - Police in Florida are searching for a man who tried to lure several children into his car with the promise of Pokemon.
Altamonte Springs police said the latest incident happened Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. near the Hidden Springs condominiums on Jamestown Boulevard.
Investigators said the man told the children that there was a Pokemon from the cellphone game "Pokemon Go" in his car, and that they should get inside to capture it.
The children, who are middle schoolers, were walking to the Hidden Springs Complex, police said.
None of the children fell victim to the scheme. They screamed and that got the attention of an adult, police said.
Like really, I can't imagine any kid in a grade under like, 4th would fall for this shit. At least here, they drill "strangers with vans are bad" into your skull for like a solid week every year once you understand basic language.
Good on the kids for not only not falling for it but immediately trying to get the attention of other adults.
Let me guess, the Pokemon was hiding in his pants?
There is totally an Ekans in here.

First off, props to these kids for handling it the best way possible. Make noise, get an adult, kudos.
Second, how fucking dumb is this guy to think kids will actually fall for it?
A 'rare candy van' so to speak.
TBH the person treated the kids like retards or didnt know the game itself, since if there really was a pokemon inside the van they could have just caputered it from outside the van...
yet again proof kids are innocent, but not stupid.
Zimbabwe :godzing:

shit, i'd get into his car. gotta catch em all
I really wish the kids managed to grab the guy's license plate.
I can't believe people still do this kind of stuff and lure others into their vehicle. Hope these kind of people get what they deserve.

To be fair, I was walking the streets in a nearby neighbourhood recently doing a letterbox drop for my business. It was 6pm, dark, and I checked my phone to see if I'd missed any calls. Some 10-12ish year old kid just walks out of his house alone and asks me if I'm playing Pokemon Go and if he can tag along...
Really worrying stuff, and some kids, even teenagers, will absolutely fall for it if someone tries to trick them. The parents don't even care half the time, it's crazy. We run a real estate and one couple had their 3 kids with them (all no older than 10) looking at a house, and they were all playing Pokemon Go. We were having a laugh about it all, and at one point the kids ran outside (to the street) to play and the mum was just like "Oh I don't really bother, they can go for a walk and have fun with it" like it was no big deal... madness.
I am trying my best not to post the free candy van.
Man, Ash really let himself go.
Literally
"Hey kids want candy???? come with me :D"
it's so cliche it's crazy

Luckily for those adults though. This man only prefers children

Yeah, but in this case it works since Pokemon are pocket monsters.
