Roseanne Barr has filed the official paperwork necessary to run for the Green Party nomination for president of the United States.
No joke.
And here we thought Donald Trump endorsing Mitt Romney was the big celebrity political news of the day.
"I am running for Green Party nominee for POTUS," the comedian said Thursday on Twitter. "I am an official candidate. I am4 the Greening of America&the world. Green=peace/justice."
Barr filed her paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Jan. 25, creating a four-way race for the Green nomination, which will be decided at the Green Party Presidential Nominating Convention in July.
"I will run until the convention in July in Baltimore-I fully expect Jill Stein 2b the nominee& I will support her, but til then-I'll serve," Barr said amid a slew of other tweets, some of them raunchy, most having to do with her campaign.
Her platform as expressed Thursday on the microblogging site included a promise to institute "#Europeanstyle" single-payer healthcare within the first 100 days of her term, and to forgive all credit card and mortgage debt "by kicking out the FED-those to whom all this fake debt is owed."
In a campaign-announcement speech delivered in May 2010, Barr put out a more detailed three-step platform (read the speech here): First, make war illegal and legalize hemp (marijuana too). Second, change the demographics of government to include more women. Third, outlaw — how do we say this politely? — outlaw bull. Yes, that's it. Outlaw bull.
"After the passage of this one law," she said in the speech, "the Patriarchy will inevitably begin to crumble, as will the concept of War itself, which is largely a large load of," well, bull.
In a more recent statement posted at the Green Party Watch website, Barr expressed her support for the Occupy Wall Street movement and said, "Both the Democratic and Republican parties are bought and paid for by corporate America and cater to the needs of the highest bidder as opposed to the people they claim to represent. I cannot be bought."
Well, why not; Reagan was a big hollywood actor, and look where he got.
Green=peace/justice
I'm a bit flummoxed by this formula
And this is why American politics is just full of shit and stupidity
Watch out Ron!
Go away.
Sorry Roseanne, you're a bit late to the party and you're not being funny at all.
Go back to being irrelevant.

Arnold Schwarzenegger 2012
[editline]1[/editline]
Wow it's a goddamn joke
Make war illegal
Erase all credit and mortgage debt
Throw government jobs at women and deny them to men
Outlaw "bull"
So I assume she's doing that last one after the first three?
And she can't do any of these or anything about democrats and republicans unless she can get more Greens into congress than the two main parties.

Non-US born citizens cannot become president.

Which is terrible because all the smart people are in Canada.
Well, why not; Reagan was a big hollywood actor, and look where he got.
Roseanne is also big.
Why can't someone really awesome run for Green Party instead? :( Resurrect Bill Hicks or use Joe Rogan.

Educated does not equal smart

It's funny how people discredit that study because America is ranked 4th, but they go on a big dick waving parade because Canada is number one.
Roseanne is the new Ralph Nader now that Nader is no longer running.
Thats about as funny as when they couldn't figure out if bert and ernie were gay

Did you not notice where I live? It's not my dick to wave.
Did you not notice where I live? It's not my dick to wave.
Oh yeah, I noticed. Despite it not being your dick to wave, you seem pretty proud of waving it.
I honestly think any pride for a country is annoying, even if it is something to be happy of, it can be annoying as fuck

Sorry someone had to do it
She's an absolute nut, and nobody is going to take her seriously.
On a totally not related topic, Ron Paul 2012
She'd be the best president since sliced bread.
She'd be the best president since sliced bread.
I'd rather have sliced bread than her

Canada isn't first. But it sure as shit is above 'Murica.
Usually the only reason third parties ever bother running is because they want to screw with the election.
That's why Gore lost in 2000, people were divided over the Democratic party and the Green party.

Hah okay. That's the last time I'll attempt sarcasm here.

It's generally stupid to attempt sarcasm in text unless you make it obvious
we kind of lack the ability to hear your tone of voice in case you forgot
remember when she tried singing the national anthem and then when people boo'd she grabbed her crotch and walked out?
yeah i dont think this would work out

I've never had a problem with detecting sarcasm on the forum. Tone of voice has nothing to do with it.
In fact, people who can only detect sarcasm when the person's voice makes it pointlessly obvious are usually tightwads.
