Two longtime House Democrats to retire Washington (CNN) - Two longtime House Democrats–Rep. Carolyn McCarthy of New York and Rep. Mike McIntyre of North Carolina–announced Wednesday they won't seek re-election in November. Their decisions bring the total number of House Democratic retirements to three. On the other side of the aisle, nine House Republicans have announced they're retiring after 2014. McCarthy said Wednesday in a statement she won't run for a 10th term representing her district in Long Island. "I am very proud of the many accomplishments my colleagues and I have achieved, and am grateful to my family, my staff and all the countless volunteers and supporters with whom I have worked during my time in office," McCarthy said in a statement.

McCain 'looking very seriously' at sixth Senate run (CNN) – While a majority of members in Congress are focusing on the 2014 midterm elections, one Senator is looking ahead toward his potential 2016 re-election plans. Sen. John McCain said he is still "looking very seriously" at a sixth Senate run in 2016 during an interview on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" Monday night. "I think there is a lot going on. I'm at the top of my game so I'm very happy to have the chance," McCain said. He will be 80 years old on Election Day in November 2016. In October, he also said he was "seriously thinking" about running for another term. The Arizona Republican easily held his seat in the 2010 election against Democrat challenger Rodney Glassman. He faced a more challenging contest leading up to that in the GOP primary against former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/01/08/two-longtime-house-democrats-to-retire/ http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/01/07/mccain-looking-very-seriously-at-sixth-senate-run/
senile old fuck running the country, at least he's not as bad as mcconnell [t]http://yglesias.thinkprogress.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/mitch-mcconnell-09081-1.jpeg[/t] duuh
senile old fuck running the country
How is this any different than pure racism (obviously not racism, but it's the same line of thinking)? Calling people out for just being old. Do you have any actual evidence for him not being in his right mind and capable of clear thought? You are part of X group, therefore you're stupid/an idiot/worse than Y group/etc.

It's like the issues over net neutrality and legislation dealing with such things are completely foreign to most of these people. I personally feel we should have young -- but qualified individuals running the country as they have more of a grasp on today's issues.
or maybe people of all ages not trying to zing you tho
or maybe people of all ages not trying to zing you tho
As long as said people are capable and can prove an awareness and understanding of modern issues, ie; technology and the like.
I personally feel we should have young -- but qualified individuals running the country as they have more of a grasp on today's issues.
There are plenty of young people who I'm sure you would disagree with on the same level, if not more strongly, then the old people currently in congress. I would rather have the best people. I don't care about their gender, their age, their race, or their religion. The fact that you put value on youth, no matter the values carried by the person, is pure bigotry. It's literally no better then saying, "I personally feel we should have whites -- but qualified individuals running the country as they have more of a grasp on today's issues."
Ideally no one over the age of like 60 should be in congress. Be like air traffic controllers. Have to be under an age to get in, but then forced out at another age. Keeps the views recent

Regardless of their knowledge. If they can't even send an email they shouldn't run a country of people based on old ideas.
