Holy shit, unexpected much?
Fuck, I wish my PC could run this. Oh well, I guess I can wait until a 360 version comes out?
I might try it. But I don't want to become hooked on another game just yet. I just purchased ME2.
I've been debating between AvP and Bioshock 2 for some time now, glad this came out.
So glad I didn't buy bioshock 2 and purchased this instead. This game truely stays true to the original multiplayer experience of aliens vs predator 2.
WARNING! MASSIVE RANT INCOMING! The demo is a massive steaming pile of shit. It is an MP only demo that uses a matchmaking system similar if not identical to Halo 3's matchmaking system. If you actual manage to connect to a game lobby, congratulations. The shortest amount of time it took me to find a game was 8 mins. The game lobbies are not any better. Anyone who has a mic plugged in cannot turn it off or mute other people's mics, so you have a constant stream of 8 people spamming your ears with fuzz and static. If you manage to survive the loading screen without crashing or disconnecting you get in the game. Once your in it is fun, until you disconnect from the game due to your connection timing out.
I really wish it was a demo of sp because that is what I am looking forward to :v: But it's fucking awesome anyway, playing as marine really raises your heart rate.

lol no crouching, 100% auto aim melee attacks and everything pretty much kills a marine in a single hit.
Can anybody else not download this? It won't start for me.
I can't install it! Help meh, I'm dying of severe-not-playing-epic-demo-disease.
lol no crouching, 100% auto aim melee attacks and everything pretty much kills a marine in a single hit.
so its a console port?
so its a console port?
Pretty much.
They already said that the full game will have dedicated servers and that matchmaking will not be in the final game.
Horrible advertising for the final product not having that in the demo, really. I'm not impressed by it.
Not impressed. Gonna spend money on Bioshock 2 instead.
1: No dedicated servers. 2: Can't join a game that's in progress. 3: The game ends if the host leaves. 4: Only Deathmatch mode in demo. What a load of shit. I'm glad they released a demo, now I can avoid spending my money on this shit.
It took me 30 minutes to get into a match that only lasted 1.5 rounds until the host left. :(
Not impressed. Gonna spend money on Bioshock 2 instead.
The MP on bioshock seems really crappy to be honest. I would only buy it for the singleplayer.
I'd like to try this on a console, where both the controls might be easier for me to use and for smoother play. Running around as an alien is fun, especially when you sprint and then jump onto walls at lightning speed. It really messes up the enemy. However, while doing this, most of the time you're never going to find out what the fuck is happening because the alien likes to latch on to anything he can and never the surface you want to if an enemy is near it. The predator is fun. Using his multiple sights is fun and you can pick up weapons around the level. I got the throwable blade which kills everything in one hit, but it depletes energy that can be used for healing or cloaking. The marine is pretty cool in his own regard. The views look different for each of the classes, where the alien pretty much sees everything lit up all the time. I didn't realize how good the graphics were until I played the marine. Everything is kinda scary :P. His weapons don't seem to do much, but it could have just been me with my dated pc.
They already said that the full game will have dedicated servers and that matchmaking will not be in the final game.
Did anyone listen or read this post?
They already said that the full game will have dedicated servers and that matchmaking will not be in the final game.
Well that's a relief. Although they really should have done it for the demo as well, this could potentially turn off a lot of customers.

I hope the dedicated server tools are gonna be released with the game. I'm gonna hold an infestation server for sure.
if you want to 360 version of the demo go to this link and download it to your console http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8025345082a/?p=1&of=1&pid=0ddf0003-0000-4000-8000-00005345883d&bt=0&sb=1 as far as I know it is unavailable on 360 marketplace so this is the only way to get it
My first time playing, I waited about 15 minutes while looking for a match, I start dozing off while it's looking for one, I finally get into a lobby, suddenly there's a big PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGAPIHSSSHSHH coming from everyone's mic and it scared the fuck out of me, the game starts, I'm waiting at the loading screen, the loading screen starts stuttering and the game crashes.
Can anybody else not download this? It won't start for me.
Restart Steam.
