The apology actually sounds sincere (from what text can convey ) and I'm surprised that they're compromising like this, unlike Micro$oft (so edgi) who are just "Nope get live and play online just get it its not much seriously even though we just introduced this as a way to gouge you more for something as basic and internet connectivity"
I think we have to be realistic. Servers cost a lot of money; maybe not $5 per-user per-month sort of money, but a lot of games these days have very high overheads for the online portion of their title.
It's nice to see that not all games will require our money to play multiplayer though.
They realized they they fucked up. And are fixing that with the fans really well.

He might be talking about that hacking incident awhile back. I've noticed their PR improve drastically since then.
Sony continues to be awesome. Does that mean no PS+ for Destiny?
This makes me really happy because there will be a ton of more players in games like The Elder Scrolls Online.

That's up to Activision to decide.
So far the only thing I dislike about PS4 is the price, pretty much anything else is neat.

You can't really get a gaming computer as powerful as the PS4 for that price, at least not in Ontario, so I'm not complaining.
Just be glad it's not the $700 beast that the PS3 was.

They already have the loyalty of the majority of the console market, they could have easily hidden all forms of online multiplayer behind the paywall, even with otherwise-F2P games, and not many people would care. They might have even made more money by doing so.

While f2p games can be indirectly supported by DISCRETE and FITTING in-game advertisement, ordinary MMO's has always been on a pay-per-month or longer basis.
Why the hell they're suddenly excepted, yet all other games are now requiring it is beyond asinine.
Sony must've been inhaling the second-hand smoke from Microsoft's crack-pipe, no doubt about that.

when you start up the ps3 it force feeds you subway ads when it's sponsored by a sony game and shit like that.

A. You can set the PS3 to not boot directly to the "What's New" screen
B. Those store ads are only in the store. They aren't plastered inescapably all over the XMB like they are on the Xbox Dashboard.
