i keep arguing with my friends about valentine's day and some say its haram (forbidden in Islam) and others including me (im a Muslim) think its absolutely normal to celebrate it and it has nothing to do with religion, so what do you think about valentine's day as a Muslim and which side are you on.
PS: i dont know how to do the polls thingy so dont crap about why i didnt do it .

I think Religions should keep the fuck out of my life.
Edit:
All honest, I think it's ridiculous. Although doesn't mean I don't respect religious people.
If it gives women any benefit then it's forbidden. Rule number one of Islam.
^^^ bullshit im a girl and i like it, you need to know more about Islam . dont get me started cuz its not the subject .

Yeah, on second thought, this looks pretty fun!
Lol ^^^ not all Muslims wear that .
A Muslim girl likely 13 or under? This is like all the shittiest threads on FP rolled into one.
Valentine's Day in general is stupid, and it's in NO way a religious holiday, but more of a holiday made to stimulate the economy.
i want a serous answer from Muslims, i really hate those fucked up extremist who keep saying everything is forbidden in Islam, and that im NOT a real muslim if i do it . thats fucking annoying .
im 21 so stop the drama.
sorry for my bad English . i suck in grammar.
Religion in general bans people from doing fun and harmless things -- not just Isalm.
oh fuck another religion thread
Valentine's Day isn't a religious holiday, it's a commercial holiday that guilts you into buying chocolates, roses, and cards.

Then you're in for some serious disappointment. From the general posting attitude of this place, I'm going to hazard that the Muslim population here is pretty low.
What you will find in abundance is thick headed trolls who will just want to call you a terrorist. You do get points for having the gumption to have a go though.
That said, Valentine's is technically a Christian Holiday as it's St Valentines day. But then again Christmas is Technically the birth of Christ and that's been emaciated of all religion. I say go for it. What do you have to lose. Besides your hands?
Valentines Day goes waaaaaaaaaay back to Babylon Times and was to do with religion but that died out a long time ago and its just a money money money time like Christmas is.
"If your happy and you know it that's a sin."

He's just being butthurt because no girl wants to go out with him.
1400 years ago, the reason that women wore burkas was actually to keep them safe from robbery and rape, rather than a form of suppression. Back then, the Bedouin tribes wore things over their face to protect them from the desert, covering the face of a woman was a way of ensuring she didn't have anything happen to her. This was 600 AD remember.
It's what they're doing nowadays that isn't right. It's not even orthodox, my personal fatwa is that Muhammad could have cared less if women were free or not. He was more concerned the abominations the people living around him were committing and stopping them. He probably would have been disgusted as the next person in seeing women beaten.
