Franco will also act in the film, which is being produced by Scott Rudin, Cassian Elwes and Franco’s partner at Rabbit Bandini, Vince Jolivette. IM Global is handling international sales at Cannes. CAA is repping domestic rights.

Crowe and McCarthy seem about as perfect a fit as cheese and chutney. This long-in-the-works adaptation has been around for some time and finally looks like it might be moving forward. McCarthy’s critically-praised book is based on historical events that took place on the Texas-Mexico border in the 1850s and traces the journey of the Kid, a 14 year old Tennesseean who stumbles into a nightmarish world when he joins a ruthless gang of scalphunters that includes the mysterious and menacing Judge Holden.
Take a book that many people consider to be unadaptable, give it a terrible director, and you've got a recipe for success.
Judge Holden is literally uncastable.
Ugh, please no. His test footage was shit.
Judge Holden is literally uncastable.
I'll bet Ted Cassidy could have done it.
Ugh, please no. His test footage was shit.
James Franco has made a habit of adapting beloved stories into shit films. See: The Sound and the Fury
Judge Holden is literally uncastable.
That's who D'Onofrio is playing.
That's who D'Onofrio is playing.
Even he can't pull it off. I don't think anyone who would meet the physics side can match on the acting side.
If it were up to me, no one would ever make a Blood Meridian movie, but if I was forced to pick a director i would give it to Villeneuve.
no stop who lets him make these movies he's terrible
sounds great! looking forward to it!

I liked certain parts of As I Lay Dying (like the casting) but I do not trust James Franco to do any justice to Blood Meridian.
The website says it's not happening now.
The website says it's not happening now.
Fucking A+.
Fucking A+.

the breaking news reports about the project appear to have derailed the fragile discussions taking place with the rights owners and the cast.
I know you didn't want to see the movie, but this is such a shitty situation.
If it was the Coen Brothers or Ridley Scott, I could've seen this happening. At least Franco won't screw it up
If it was the Coen Brothers or Ridley Scott, I could've seen this happening. At least Franco won't screw it up
I can't imagine the Coens making a movie that is constantly horrifying and brutal.
http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Why-Russell-Crowe-James-Franco-Blood-Meridian-Has-Been-Scrapped-129477.html they announced it before they were even able to secure the rights to adapt it what the fuck
I can't imagine the Coens making a movie that is constantly horrifying and brutal.
Have you seen their other McCarthy adaption?
