Poem I wrote for ELA, influenced heavily by "Crime and Punishment."
Deals with the ironic and horrible life of a psycho killer.
--------------------------------------
How gradually it grows, burns, inside
As a cold metal bomb descends towards it's reckoning
How many more times must they say, do, that?
Falsely incessant, their actions a mental trigger
How swiftly the decision is delivered
Falsely decided, his mind pulls a metal trigger
Anger like a warm pillow covers the face letting nothing through
Brings unthought of thoughts in the darkness
Eyes shut to the counting of bullets
Even before, Life is lost
The red hands of the clock run around Opportunity's second face
Destitute of destiny, time loses it's chance
The man takes his
Consecutive steps on pavement, in mind
Each must be followed by the other
The shining doorknob turns the stomach
One more time was enough
Red eyes cast their colour on his acts, his axe
Steps in blood, on the mind
Thoughts made real start to congeal
False light is drowned in crimson
Truthfully incessant, each swing coats his conscience
Brings unthought of thoughts in the darkness
Eyes shut to the counting of swings
Even after life is lost
