Misread the title. Got we worried there, I thought they were going to block certain websites for everyone but then I read the article and noticed it is optional.
Isn't TalkTalk shit anyway? I seem to recall my cousin having loads of problems with his speed being shit even though they were paying for a decent line.

So, is it blocking on DNS level??
I like TalkTalk, they don't force their shit on you like other ISP's, they don't choke your speed when your torrenting linux distro's and they have been pretty good for me so far. Although many would disagree as I've heard plenty of bad things bout them happening to other people.
Different areas will have different experiences I don't know why people don't understand that
A spokesman for TalkTalk said that the system was discriminating enough to be able to block individual adverts on web pages that were booby-trapped with malware but would still let a user interact with the rest of that page.
Adblock also helps.

I'm on TalkTalk, had problems years ago, now it's all good :)
I'm on TalkTalk Got an email a few days ago "Your download cap has been reached. You can extend it with our generous offer of £5.00 a month subscription" It took 10 minutes to load the page. Fuck you TalkTalk.
"Sites containing pornography or online gambling can be blocked completely." Nope.
I can't vouch for TalkTalk as an ISP, but I know they lead the effort and put a lot of money into trying to stop the Digital Economy Bill from passing so I admire them for that.
It'd be good if they started by giving their customers an actual service, before they gave optional extras. I'm not bitter.
