I've been playing FUEL with this for awhile.
It's nice, so far it doesn't fix much. But it makes FUEL feel like it's worth playing.
The game is only $15 right now. I'll wait till the black friday sale thing to get it. Will probably be like $5 then.
Okay, now this is awesome!
That is AWESOME. I love Fuel despite all it's flaws. Free driving in that game was awesome.
but what about engine sounds
but what about engine sounds
If they've changed everything from AI to the UI, then they've probably also changed the engine sounds
Now fix the Framerate problems
I know the guy who made this, he's pretty cool. Anyways, one of the things that he managed to do was unlock the dragster for free roam, which is awesome. Driving at 200+ mph on the highways is badass.

What framerate problems. Was running very smoothly for me.
How can a 1Mb patch fix so much stuff? Or I'm I missing something?
I liked the idea of a completely open-world driving game, Burnout: Paradise sort of disappointed in that driving around aimlessly didn't really feel like much fun to me, and the races were much more linear than they let on, yeah you could find your own way to the start, but generally, the route the AI all take is much quicker and the only way you've got a chance of finishing in a decent position.
Nice article.

I lol'd.

The mod is primarily based around scripts modifying the game's code and thus is a very small download.
but what about engine sounds
Personally I don't have an issue with the engine sounds, granted they're not brilliant - but they are ok. I am open to improving them though, you should post on the mod's forum if you have any suggestions.

What frame-rate Problems? I've not experienced any (thus why there is no fix). What specs are you running on?
Add me on LIVE and Steam, I wanna play with you guys.
I always wondered how it is possible, the modding community which does it for free is more dedicated then most of the gaming companies which hire professionals to make sure the game is out there not broken, stable and playable - which is not, instead customers get a broken piece of shit.

There is a really good, active steam community group that hosts weekly events here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/TFROC
Best place to find people playing FUEL these days.

Yeah its a shame that these so-called professionals were able to release a project so broken and of such poor quality. FUEL really did have the potential to be a truly great game if done right and not the major disappointment that it is.

What you're forgetting is that, unlike modders, the devs have costs and a deadline to make.

You know... Not all modding consists of media-heavy content.
I only played the Demo and it seemed the weather was all scripted. True?
I only played the Demo and it seemed the weather was all scripted. True?
Some scripted and some not. You can script certain weather to always happen, or there is the base weather that occurs in the free roam mode. In FUEL: REFUELED I removed most of the basic scripting in races, so instead it would use the dynamic free-roam weather - which is an improvement, or at the very least gives more variety.
This sounds awesome!
Gonna try it out right now, amazing that someone actually succeeded in making a mod for FUEL!

Some events have scripted weather (like the totally fucking awesome "tornadoes are ripping shit apart HOLY FUCK" race early in the game).

Only thing I really disliked about FUEL was the overuse of HDR. Go into a forest at night = instant spotlights shining everywhere
There's one thing I want changed in this game, and that's when you drive down a hill and when you're almost down at the bottom the camera zooms out and you respawn, remove that and I'll love you forever!

When did you get unbanned? :raise:
There's nothing about it in the event log.

That's why they have alpha/beta testers, community, community alpha/beta tests?
I'm enjoying FUEL. I just don't understand why everyone hates it.
