Reggae is a genre that was developed in Jamaica in the laste 1960s, the sound was developed when producers sped up Ska records and added more effects to it.
Notable artists include; Bob Marley, King Tubby, Jimmy Cliff, Lee ''Scratch'' Perry and Desmond Dekker. Various sub-genres surfaced with Dub, Dancehall and Reggaeton becoming increasingly popular, these genres are usually promoted by the likes of Major Lazer (who produced their debut album in the legendary Tuff Gong Studio). Dub led to the creation of Dubstep and Reggaeton inspired Moombahton.
