If you read the actual article or go to the website where this article is hosted, you'd see that it doesn't say it's causation at all. It's simply showing a correlation.

This makes sense if you look at other things like wealth. Wealthier people tend to be conservative and not like wealth redistribution so much.
So what I'm getting at is the more you have of something, the more special you'll feel and less likely you'll be to want to share it with others. Being more muscular is just this concept applied on a personal, physical level. So a strong guy might feel that, being strong, he should have the right to take what he wants. He might even feel it's a waste of his strength for him NOT to be assertive in that way.

In my experience libertarians like to pretend that they're well-read and intelligent but the reality is that they played Bioshock one time and completely missed the point

In my experience, most libertarians I know are well read. There are many academic institutions devoted to the development of libertarian theory and knowledge(cato, ludwig von mises institute, reason foundation, fff, et al.). So I guess you're probably a child who only has the experience of hanging around other children who identify as libertarians.
