"Who the fuck said that we're dying?"
[release]DICE general manager, Karl Magnus Troedsson has been talking about DICE’s focus on the PC version of Battlefield 3, saying that he feels DICE neglected the PC while they were building the first Frostbite Engine and making Battlefield: Bad Company. He also confirms that the PC will get “the same post-launch campaign” as the consoles in terms of downloadable content, unlike Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Troedsson told Shacknews that he “felt that we had, maybe, set PC aside a bit too much. I’ve said this publicly before, we were very unhappy that we were not able to get a PC version out of Battlefield: Bad Company. It was down to sheer manpower, or lack thereof. We felt that we couldn’t just bring out the Frostbite engine, and bring the game to consoles, and get the PC version out. We just failed there. It’s something that we regret but it was a pure fact that we were faced upon.”
“Now it’s Battlefield 3 and we thought, “Now it’s time to give some extra love to the PC community.” But also, we strongly believe in PC gaming. Two years ago, maybe one year ago, people talked about “the decline of PC gaming.” Or “the death of PC gaming.” These kind of words were thrown around and, honestly, that’s bullshit.”
Troedsson went on to apologise for not bringing the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught DLC to PC, adding that Battlefield 3 PC is “definitely going to get the same post-launch campaign or whatever we do.” The PC version looks as thought it might just live up to expectations. Check out the amazing first in-game footage, and our first impressions of Battlefield 3 for more.[/release]

It was bullshit. Its only a matter of days till they crack the console platform.
I think I might just buy BF3 just because DICE is willing to stand up for us.
[sp] not that I wasn't, this game is fucking beautiful[/sp]
The game looks good and so does the company; I have hope for this game.
BC2 is fun, and it'll be interesting to see how BF3 is.
It's great to see some companies out there understand this.

New desktop background.
Fuck. Yes.
I thought the picture was real for a second there.

It could be post-rendered/artist touched-up. Don't let that phase you, DICE has been always on a good record for astonishing games. IDC what they say about BF:Vietnam. I absolutely LOVE that game. I just wish they offered more "realistic" scenarios. Like one death you're out. Too bad MP gaming as so many human restrictions we'd have to weed out humanity to make shit like this plausible.
It's good to see a developer with this kind of attitude towards PC gaming.

I thought you said mormons at first.
I guess it would've worked both ways.

Holy shit I thought that image was live action
Remember how from 2005 to 2008 it was all "OMG pc gaming is DED" and all that shit? Now we're getting so much "PC gaming is alive and well." it's insane.

Console makers overhyping things.
Usual business, only idiots believed it anyway.
People have been saying "PC gaming is dying" for decades. Anyone who actually believes it has no idea what they're talking about.
Fuck yes we need more developers to join our side.
:golfclap:
"PC gaming is dying" gets thrown around every single time a new generation of consoles come out. A couple of years later and it's all forgotten again.
Also look at the numbers of subscriptions WoW has and tell me PC gaming is dead with a straight face.
I hope they put Onslaught on the PC after they're done with BF3, considering my system specs I'll probably be playing BC2 long after the release of BF3. :smith:
If you can run BC2, you could probably run BF3.
If you can run BC2, you could probably run BF3.
I can just run BC2. So the question is does it require more or less system resources to run acceptably?
I believe the PC community is too strong and self supporting for it to die out so easily.
I wasn't even interested in Battlefield 3, but I guess I have to buy it now.
I love you DICE.
People often forget that the PC community is also spread out to modeling, mapping, mods, own servers, etc. etc.

BF3 doesn't support XP. :frown:
that image cant be in game footage; look at the brush strokes
