The robot came away with bullet holes, frayed wires and broken cables, but no one was hurt.
"It saved a life," said Barnett.
The man was charged with criminal mischief and The robot will be out of commission for awhile. It's being sent back to its manufacturer for repairs.

Could go to fuckin walmart and get a RC monster truck, duct tape, webcam, transmitter, receiver, and a screen for a lot less, maybe even less than $1000.

My bet is that it was probably bomb defusing robot, and these usually have these manipulator arms and shit.
And generally all police/military grade technology is horribly overpriced.

They spend the extra money so that it's not a piece of shit that falls apart in an unstable environment. Say, one where it is getting shot at.

The robot did exactly what it was sent in to do: prevent the loss of an officer's life
