This is just wrong in every way... well except for the profits of corporations and politicians.. as usual.
Looks like Canada's next to learn why you shouldn't sell natural assets to corporations, since it seems America's outlived it's usefulness.
That's it, moving to America!
why is it there is always some company or politician that looks at all the nice stuff people enjoy and tries to destroy it....
[editline]11th October 2013[/editline]
like if the protections are working, don't fucking mess with it....
something like this happened here in ohio, a very small group of state reps put an anti-abortion bill onto the 2013 budget even though its against the law, and suddenly its illegal for abortion in ohio, they did this without even concent of the voters or mentioning the issue. theyve done the same with solar and wind stimulus here too, just cut them without actually announcing why or discussing the issue, just tacked ammendments onto stuff at the 11th hour and then gloat about what they accomplished by throwing a wrench into the legal processes
wynne is a fucking roll lately
Hey, the "Harper government" is doing it, so why not get Ontario in the game as well. :v:
:suicide:
Our provincial government sucks no matter which side of the political spectrum you're looking at.
What the fuck is with the amount of piece of shit politicians in this country.
It is not just yours.

They're leaking from our boarders. I'm so sorry.
They're leaking from our boarders. I'm so sorry.
Can't we just all agree to punt them to the frozen wasteland of the arctic circle?
So, maybe we will destroy all of Earth's natural beauty for short-term profits.
That's what I get for being optimistic.
So instead of barren government owned nothingness we actually utilize our resources up there.
God forbid.
We should of just elected Mike Harris.

You gotta be kidding me..
You gotta be kidding me..
No, some people can have differing opinions without it being a joke.
I really have a hard time now with people who still insist our government isn't either incredibly corrupt, ethically bankrupt, or both.
So instead of barren government owned nothingness we actually utilize our resources up there.

There's a difference between using them for resources and tearing up thousands of square miles of forest for oil, and also allowing companies too get away with Hydrogen Sulfide Leaks with only a fine

Sorry but this land was protected for a reason, yeah it has resources in it but if you undermind that because you don't care about the natural habitat that the wildlife needs then you're an idiot.
Crown land should never get into private hands and declassifying protected animals is just outragious. Everything she's doing is wrong on both a morally and political scale, its political suicide towards the public but money grubbing for private corporations.

sensationalist as fuck. 20 liters? really?
Really that whole article is sensationalist.
sensationalist as fuck. 20 liters? really?

Hardly, 20 liters is enough to pollute a lake causing it to be harmful and it raises bigger concerns. What other chemicals have been dropped in that shouldn't have.

In some regards I don't care. Humans are top dog, animals are below us. That's not to say I don't understand the delicate ecosystems we inhabit. I just don't see the big deal with utilizing resources we own at the cost of a small section of barren unused land and some dead/moved snow geese.

I seriously hope you don't become a high ranking CEO or someone who has anything to do with natural resources. Because you clearly have no sense on wildlife and what small effects can do, plus that lake is used as our drinking water, enjoy drinking contaminated bottled water because they don't filter that shit.

Huh? which lake are we talking about I wasn't referring to Sarnia.

Um. If, as you said, you actually "understood the delicate ecosystems we inhabit", you'd also understand that the so-called "barren unused land" that you mention is very much full of life.

What makes some random animals so sacred? I'm not talking about nuking northern Ontario but why does it matter so much if we have patches of Xkm by Xkm land up there where we process and extract minerals from? Animals won't be in that area anymore, oh well I can sleep at night.
Just like how we are idiots and don't refine our own oil.
We are resource rich as fuck but we don't go about taking advantage of them the right way to better the country.
Huh? which lake are we talking about I wasn't referring to Sarnia.
Doesn't matter its still related to your poor regard and choices on how you see that "unused land". If you don't see a major pollution of a lake as something to care about you clearly don't give a fuck about anything else wildlife wise, you wouldn't care if what you ate or drank was contaminated from these undermined corporative actions and your whole "we're better than them" isn't an excuse to take their home away from them just to fulfil your desire to mine/farm the land. Compromises have to be made and Crown land is that style of compromise, its like someone taking a national park, ripping away its protection then building a massive shopping mall and coal power plant on it with a radioactive storage site.
You just wouldn't do that even though it'll make you a fuckload of money.
Just like how we are idiots and don't refine our own oil.
Because some people don't think driving animals to extinction and damaging our atmosphere for profit is a good idea.
[editline]11th October 2013[/editline]
Then again you probably don't believe climate change exists and wouldn't give a fuck if we killed every creature on earth but the ones we farm.
So instead of barren government owned nothingness we actually utilize our resources up there.

It's just BAD business to let private companies have control over natural resources. They owe no loyalty to their country to their citizens, just to their bottom line. They will use the fastest most inexpensive (and often horribly destructive) methods to extract as many resources as possible in the shortest amount of time and to hell with anything else that actually lives there. You will not see a single dime of profit from letting them destroy your backyard, they however will make billions.

Would you want to live in a place like that? Furthermore can you imagine animals trying to live in that? Hint: They can't, it's a toxic wasteland.
This province has been a trainwreck since McGuinty was premiere. Ontario does not have a good track record with Liberal premieres, they've repeatedly lied about tax increases, they used the Residential Tenancies Act like toilet paper, expanded the useless driveclean cash grab program and provincial debt is higher than ever. Don't even get me started on the 1 billion dollar gas plant bullshit taxpayers now have the pleasure of dealing with.

I agree, but tis not much better letting any government have complete control either. They are essentially one and the same.. governments and corporations... just different methods of getting things done.
