• First real project using Pixel art - how am I doing? WIP

Always wanted to get in to some form of art as I like being creative but found I sucked with most things or simply lacked a ton of experience, then I read a 5 minute tutorial on pixel art! and here I am 2 days later started my first real piece! (I done plant pots and stuff to begin with over last couple of day). Ok, so there's no picture as of yet as I was just working out the layout and such, it's basically going to be an illustration of a clan member in the gaming clan that I run, sort of done in like a trading card game, so his illustration will fill the centre. For everything that is there so far I used MS paint and was just wondering how am I doing? any pointers or tips? something I could do better to improve my own skill? Thanks in advance. Rigan. Don't do pillow shading. http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/shading.html
Don't think that you "suck" at everything else. Pixel art is simply another medium, not an easy way to get into the art world. Painting, drawing, 3D modelling, and any other form of art has valuable information on how to better your pixel art. Furthermore, if you're a skilled pixel artist, you're on the same level as millions of other artists around the world. Don't think that just because you pixel puts you on a lower plain than anyone else. That being said, I think that for your first project that looks pretty good. I came across a nice little pixel tutorial that's helped me along, and I hope you benefit from it as much as I have.
