Weird to think a Sony-based service can't be supported on a Sony-based console.
so thats what pissed reviewers off, and what folks in neogaf assumed it was too.
how the hell does sony support facebook uploading first but not youtube. im so confused
Weird to think a Sony-based service can't be supported on a Sony-based console.
It never worked for me anyway :V
so thats what pissed reviewers off, and what folks in neogaf assumed it was too.
gotta say it was a lot less worse than i thought, if this was the case
That's lame as hell.
Couldn't you still use the old method of the hdmi into a seperate box then split like people have done with the PS360?
Then what's the point of recording gameplay at all?
Can I share my game videos on YouTube? No. At launch, PS4 users will be able to use the Share button on the DUALSHOCK 4 controller to upload gameplay videos to their Facebook account, or to stream live gameplay to Ustream or Twitch. PS4 owners can follow PlayStation.Blog and PlayStation.com for further news on other services to come after launch.
Hmm i guess it doesn't TOTALLY conclude that youtube will never be a feature. Edit: title was updated to "at launch". good good
so thats what pissed reviewers off, and what folks in neogaf assumed it was too.
I thought that issue was about HDCP which makes it impossible to record it? Or is this related to it, I only skim read the three links. HDCP is such a silly thing, especially in this sort of situation. What benefit does not being able to record PS4 footage give to anyone? Its clearly not the way the market is going (from what I can work out, microsoft don't intend to block it) so I wonder what Sony are up to.
-snip-
Wait what. So you can record footage but you can't share it outside of your console?
Wait what. So you can record footage but you can't share it outside of your console?
Apparently you can upload it to Facebook (lol) or stream gameplay to twitch or ustream Streaming isn't very exciting though imo
the title is a little misleading. they say it won't be there at launch, I doubt they would never add it as a feature especially since Xbone has it. add "at launch" to the end of the title
the title is a little mis leading. they say it won't be there at launch, I doubt they would never add it as a feature especially since Xbone has it. add "at launch" to the end of the title
Yeah the FAQ says "at launch" as well.
Edited, that's what it says in the FAQ.
I thought the PS4 was going to have a recording feature?
I mean, the ps4 has to save its videos somewhere on the HDD, right? It'd be insane not to let your users take media files off of the console.
I don't much care for gameplay video recording functionality but I make heavy use of the DLNA client functionality of the ps3 to stream movies from my PC into my lounge so this sucks but I'm not planning to get a ps4 any time soon anyway.
Couldn't you still use the old method of the hdmi into a seperate box then split like people have done with the PS360?
you cant capture ps3 from hdmi most capture cards targeted towards gamers need to have a special cable because of hdcp [editline]30th October 2013[/editline] these cables are still capable of 1080p though so thats fine
This really isn't a big deal. Reviewers are still getting video capture just fine.
Does PS4 support external HDMI-based game capture devices? PS4 will allow the use of external HDMI-based capture devices following an upcoming system software update — please follow PlayStation.Blog and PlayStation.com for news following the launch of PS4.
Once again, the uproar was over the closely monitored PS4 Review event Sony is hosting.
Will I be able to play MP3s on PS4? No.
This is the bigger news if you ask me.
This is the bigger news if you ask me.
Even worse, you need to buy a Music Unlimited subscription to stream music for $60 a month.
Both the consoles seem incredibly rushed and I think it's going to backfire.
This is the bigger news if you ask me.
Eh, who even bothers to keep a library these days with all streaming services available And if you do have a huge library you already have ~10 devices to play it on
Eh, who even bothers to keep a library these days with all streaming services available And if you do have a huge library you already have ~10 devices to play it on
its still pretty dumb
its still pretty dumb
yeah, there's literally no other reason they did this other than "SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PREMIUM SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!" I really hope they eventually unlock the feature for users that don't want to fucking pay 60 dollars to listen to a 3 minute song while playing a game
But if Xbox came out and said this, you guys would treat it like the work of the devil
Yep, its because people found out about bad news about Xbox One first so everyone bandwagoned on hating it before any news was even found out about the PS4, now all the bad news is coming out soon before its released. I guarantee Sony did the same DRM as Xbox One did, but because Xbox One's DRM idea was leaked from that Adam orth guy leaked it, Sony changed it before E3
