The jobs bill would have hired veterans who served in the military since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, to work on federal public lands projects and would have established a network of job training centers. The jobless rate among those veterans was 10.9% in August, compared with a rate of 8.1 % in the broader population.
Seriously, fuck these chickenhawks, if you're going to be the proponent of the military & wars like Iraq / Afghanistan, at least take care of those who fucking leave afterwards.
god bless [editline]19th September 2012[/editline] god fucking bless the silver spoon
Draft their sons and daughters

keep these bills down till romney gets elected, claim that obama/democrats haven't done much for public/private sector jobs. Romney gets elected they approve it cause democrats are going to approve it no matter what (Cause it helps our veternens and job disparity) then republicans claim Romney saved America god bless merica
Fucking Republicans. No fun allowed.
The reps don't really care much about people, evidenced time and time again. Like that time they blocked a bill that would give support to rescuers who were injured during 9/11. Chances are they blocked this just to spite the Dems, as they do.
Republicans in the Senate balked over the five-year $1-billion cost
Just checking that these are the same people who spent $1-billion a day on war a few years ago. Yep, they are. Glad to see you have your priorities straight, asswipes. I seem to remember the argument going something like "Dems introduce bill > Reps tack on something from their agenda > Dems do the same > Dems and Reps squabble over minor bullshit and both decide not to vote on it > Jon Stewart hosts a special > bill passes in its original form." You know your political process is fucked when the chief executive can't do shit, but a comedic political commentator can get a law passed.

I wish all the Republicans in the world were alerted of this event happening Thanks to Fox "Propaganda" News this news will only go to people who already don't like Republicans
So, if I'm to understand this, they nixed a bill that would provide work and training for veterans seeking careers in important public works projects? Sounds like a pretty darn sound investment, to me. They pay for labor, but it's just going straight back into the state on projects that would have had to be completed anyway. This is contention for the sake of contention.
So the initiative was just gonna cost one billion over the span of five years? And the Republicans blocked it? Fuck them. One billion dollars is just a drop in the bucket for the federal budget. They could have easily diverted one billion dollars from the 500 billion dollar defense budget to fund this program.
Seriously, fuck these chickenhawks, if you're going to be the proponent of the military & wars like Iraq / Afghanistan, at least take care of those who fucking leave afterwards.
They only care so long as you are killing people. Once you start helping people, its absolutely out of the question.

They support war and huge defense budget, but try to draft their sons and daughters to war, they would try to make sure their kids never touch the war. Besides, Democrats support it, therefore, refuse to work with them, vote against this job bill that would help veterans, yell out that it was the Dems fault enough times for the idiots to believe its true, job's done.

CHECKS & BALANCES! [/Murican]
That's not C&B, idiot, know what you're making satire of
There must have been something more to the bill if Republicans shot it down.
fire up the botnets

Ban republicans from existence 2012 :suicide:
Wow.....fuck these guys. I'm now trying to debate who I hate more, WBC or these jackoffs.
Ban republicans from existence 2012 :suicide:
I'm Republican and I disagree with this..
Would it require a raise in taxes? Because if it did it's probably because of the Norquist thing.
I'm Republican and I disagree with this..
That zit on my arse also disagreed on getting removed. But it's for the greater good so it had to take one for the team.
Because nothing ever got accomplished by spending money on public works. (Just to add insult to injury here, the Hoover dam remains controlled by the federal government and has continued to generate income despite having long since paid for its construction (50 million USD originally, 690 million USD in 2008 dollars. So not only did it aid in getting the economy back on track, but it has generated additional funds in the long run.)
This is fucking bullshit. I am pissed off at all of this kind of shit that happens, and I feel completely powerless to do anything about it. The worst part is that because the news in this country is biased to the fucking max, not a single god damned person is going to hear about this. It just does not make any sense to me how people can do things like this almost entirely, it seems, out of spite. This would help out many people and it would help the country. I am disgusted at this outcome.
And it's got a stunning figure!
A dam fine figure.
It's times like this that make me wish the Republicans were obliterated or at least exiled; they block everything that could help the people and do little else other than empower the rich, who by many standards should not need bailouts; they're people like us, so they should be able to survive for a month without gold-plated foie gras and melange-infused champagne injections, so that other people can actually survive and have a decent amount of living in them. I've said this a fair few times, and i'll say it again; folks who hoard their vast reserves of resources and stagnate the economy need to be whacked repeatedly in the guts with a baseball bat, so that they crack open and the spoils of such a grim pinata are distributed amongst the people.
