Calais strikes: travel chaos as 150 migrants attempt to storm Channel Tunnel

Holidaymakers faced travel chaos last night as more than 150 migrants attempted to storm the Channel Tunnel.
The group caused delays to Eurotunnel services after entering restricted areas on the French side of the crossing, the BBC reported.
British lorry drivers were left queueing on the M20 as officials worked to remove the migrants.
A spokesman for Eurotunnel called for "immediate action" from the authorities to protect the tunnel after striking ferry workers blockaded the port in Calais, allowing migrants to break into UK-bound lorries.
He said passenger services were running as normal today but freight journeys were still being delayed.
He said: "Up to 150 migrants stormed the tunnel, which caused disruption to services leading to delays and cancellations for customers.
"Eurotunnel wants immediate action from authorities to protect the tunnel - not enough is being done to stop the migrants."
Kent Police advised motorists to expect delays as officers closed sections of the M20.
Why are these guys being allowed to run wild
Just pull them off of the roads and smack them around a few times.
please, tell us what other word there is
Should not be that hard, maybe refugees would be more fitting in this situation.

No windows deployment server for me :(
Criminals?
woah slow down there you bigoted racist
this is a cry for help, an act of desperation, we're not doing enough for them and we should bow our heads in shame
Source?
Wtf France, stop this already.
Criminals?
that would mean they have been charged and convicted though?
Don't understand why the UK government hasn't sent riot police or the army over there since the French seem to be doing fuck all or close to it about this.
Should not be that hard, maybe refugees would be more fitting in this situation.
I find it amusing you would pick "refugees" given their actions. Perhaps they would prefer to be back "home" on the receiving end of violence? That would be better than allowing them to continue to cause violence in the country that was nice enough to allow them to take refuge, don't you think?

They're probably pushing them through the tunnels with barge poles.
"oui oui go in is money for you waiting in england go now leave france"

They would be deemed racist and they would act before the EU as a whole has found a solution. Currently they want to spread out the refugees over all the EU countries, but some are having none of that. So the plan is still on the drawing board.

Why do you keep doing this in threads that deals with matters like this? Just a few days ago you called for BDA to stop doing what you're doing right now.
Furthermore, who in their right minds would call dealing with these literal criminals an racist act?

Is it really that hard to arrest the people who are breaking the law?
I find it remarkable that a country would willingly leave their citizens in danger for fear of being called racist. I guess they aren't worried about being called cowards, because that's what they are for not taking action.

I believe he was being sarcastic.

I somehow have extreme doubts that the police aren't acting because they are afraid of being called racist. It's something far-right people keeps bringing up in order to paint them as a group being censored or oppressed, while at the same time talking about the exact things they claim they are not being allowed to say.
I believe he was being sarcastic.
Yes I understand that. Thanks!
No linked source, add that pls

Looking racist has fuck all to do with it, people's health and livelihoods are in danger, the government should step in to protect them.
Good thing the tunnel was barricaded by the workers anyway, eh?

Yeah I just read that lol
"A spokesman for Eurotunnel called for "immediate action" from the authorities to protect the tunnel after striking ferry workers blockaded the port in Calais, allowing migrants to break into UK-bound lorries."
I guess the authority aren't breaking up the strikes because they are afraid of being called racist.
Edit:
also at the bottom of the article
"Home Secretary Theresa May travelled to France this week to discuss the growing transport and migrant crisis."

Striking is legal (I presume), breaking into vehicles isn't.

This looks legal to you? I don't mind striking, but they're literally burning tires, blocking the roads and shit.
Anyhow my point is, the authorities aren't inactive because of the fear of being called racist. It's due to a lot of factors, but it's certainly easier and suits the far-right narrative better to the police and the government cowards.
