Looks really good. I remember seeing the trailer for this game, but couldn't remember the title. I think I'm gonna get this.
The game actually looks fairly interesting. I agree with TB's criticism on autosaves though which is a bit of a silly oversight and I think the way the seasons and weather works could use a little work. I don't think it should instantly become snowy when winter comes and there's no real indication of autumn which there would be even though most of the trees appear to be evergreens. For winter it should get colder then there should be snowstorms which accumulate snow rather than it being instantaneously.

The devs seem to care about their game a lot, with any luck they'll release a few content patches for it.

One guy made this. AFAIK he considers it "done" but is looking forward to player feedback and bug reports for future tuning and maybe even expansion. Also a mod kit.

Holy shit, ONE guy made this? Damn, he has both programming AND art skills, that's a rare combo most of the time. Mostly because good programmers don't make good artists. Unless he hired out for the art, which isn't in any way a bad thing, just means I'm wrong about my assumptions again.
Shit, I'll buy this tomorrow, I get my pay check hopefully. He deserves money for this game. Props to him for not releasing it in early access either. (?)

That's good then. I've been really iffy on buying games from Steam and it appears to be Steam exclusive but I'm thinking about getting it when it's available.
I have been watching a youtuber by the name of GamersDissent play this. I personally think it looks pretty good.
It's kind of like Anno meets Kenshi, but without any combat
This video reminded me that I bought a box version of Anno 2070 and still haven't tried it.
I kinda like the concept of a town survival game without combat, personally in games like this combat has always come off as a distraction.

I got it awhile back (and didn't realize it was a uPlay game unfortunately) and it was actually fairly interesting if a bit complex. I liked it enough that I don't mind it being a uPlay game even though I find the idea of launching uPlay through Steam just so you can play your game an extremely idiotic idea. (Seriously, a Steam based uPlay game can't run without both Steam AND uPlay running...)
The only good thing about UPlay is it has all those unlockable things that you can only get with points you obtain while playing the game, although most of them don't make sense because it's stuff you should already have in the game to begin with.

This. I've been following the development of the game for awhile and I think it comes out today on Steam. If not today, than it'll be out by tomorrow knowing the lag between release date/steam date.
He's really dedicated to his game, the first he's ever made apparently. If anyone is wrong on release I'm sure it'll be patched in a few days.

Apparently it's being released on the Humble store and is currently released on Gog as well. (I'm assuming that the Humble Store version will be up around the same time as the Steam version due to timezone differences.)
Still at the beginning at the video, but it has a real Dwarf Fortress vibe to it. No combat sounds fine, because I think it's nice managing a bunch of temperamental people while trying to build up a town.

You can already get it on the humble store.
Guys what was that video where he got really pissed off that the game didnt have an FOV slider and pretty much bashed it the whole video just for that?
Something to do with aliens if I recall correctly... Was it Natural Selection 2?
There's no political features on this is there? I want something new from Tropico 4 and don't really know of anything similar.
The forester is only usefull once you have the buildings for him built, it looks like he didn't play or pay attemtion to the tutorials,it's explained there.

According to Steam, it's supposed to unlock in 5 hours.
I'm usually not into that type of games but this one looks very interesting to me. I really want to play that.
Just bought it, looks really great

He's also putting all his buildings wedged together, that'll make fire disastrous later on.

Well idk what to tell you? This is the developer's website and it's through humblebundle store so of course it'll be through sooner.

He did say that he didn't know the ins and outs of placing buildings strategically. All in all, though, I think that this video aptly showcased the game.

He only dislikes games that have no FOV slider, if the games are first person shooters iirc.

It wasn't available on the Humble store yet when I posted that, only on Gog which is where I grabbed it.
It's interesting so far. It's annoying having everyone dying of old age and you can't get them to have kids because of a lack of houses which you can't build because your tools wore out and it takes you 5 years to build a blacksmith because apparently punching the stone doesn't provide a lot of stone per season though. I finally got that under control but now I've dropped from 30 population down to 13 because they're all aging to death. Though I did realize too late you don't need a quarry or mine for stone and iron if there's still some on the map. You can just have a laborer or idle builder gather it. Which would have saved me a ton of time on that issue...

I was just adding onto what you said. Some people might have preferred to get it on steam than somewhere else.
Also, around year 11 my population started dropping pretty fast. I never got above 25 citizens. None of my citizens wanted to have kids.

I'm on year 25 with 23 adults and 9 children currently. (This on medium on a large mountain map with a harsh climate too.) If you are having the same issue I had you need to build more houses. Apparently they can only house 6 people even though it will show 9 slots. (This is up from 12 after dropping from 30 too.)
I'm going to start a challenge for you guys:
Siberia
Hard start, mountain, terrible conditions and in general put everything as hard as possible then report back.
