News that a major British supermarket will no longer be stocking Marmite following Brexit has sparked outrage across the U.K., leading the hashtag #MarmiteGate to trend on Twitter. Tesco pulled a range of products, including Marmite, PG Tips tea bags, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, Persil washing powder and Lynx body spray, from its website after a row over pricing with the major food and household goods supplier Unilever.
http://time.com/4529747/marmite-shortage-tesco-brexit/ As an American I tell you this would NEVER happen in Freedom Land™ :terrists:

Was on the verge of crying then. I need Marmite to live.
Why settle for disgusting Marmite when you could have the one true Vegemite instead?

Unilever own a hilariously large amount of brands, not just Marmite.
They released Marmite XO a a few years back but then randomly stopped selling it.. There should have been more of an uproar then. Also last year there was quite a bit of news about milk producers going out of business because supermarkets were giving them crappy deals (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-18951422)
I know Marmite is usually used for just spreading on toast or whatever, but are there any other foods that use it? Same with Vegemite. I've always wanted to try it, since I usually see it in the halal market nearby here, but I wouldn't know what to do with it.

Best one is throwing it in with chocolate cakes, either as a butter icing or addition to the cake its self, makes a very rich tasting cake.

Coming from the town where marmite is made, everywhere you walk people are just going mad about the whole thing because of it endangering their jobs. Good to hear its all been sorted now
Thread title had me in stitches, now all we need is marmite stamps and we're done
it's just tesco

Its like pepsi and coke, they're both colas.
Availability of marmite is heavily correlated with happiness in the UK
Your laws don't even allow Kinder Surprise eggs there. You are being oppressed and don't even know it.
Why would I buy something I can't eat completely :smug:
Why would I buy something I can't eat completely :smug:
So you eat an entire cooked chicken including the bones?
So you eat an entire cooked chicken including the bones?
You don't know what its like being an american, brit!
So you eat an entire cooked chicken including the bones?
Waste not want not my friend.
I would have been more upset about losing Ben & Jerry's Britain is a bizarre country
