The MCU follows the adventures of Marvel superheroes as they endure many foes, mystical entities, monsters, warlords, sarcastic quippy self-aware AIs, drunk actors and of course romance interests all compiled in a huge universe known as the Great Tree
You can also talk about the crap that Fox is working on (fyi X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool)

Great thread, some tremendous shots I've never seen. Perfect timing since Phase 2 is kicking in.
Maybe add some info on the movies later.
The Amazing Spider-Man is part of this same universe too isn't it
or they're at least trying to make it part of it?
Oscorp was going to appear in Avengers and Stark Tower was going to appear in Amazing Spider-Man. But they basically ran out of time as the studio was rushing out Avengers towards the end. There were all sorts of reports that Sony and Disney have made a massive deal to involve Spider-Man in the next Avengers flick.

Then Andrew Garfield was caught with these around the same time. I doubt Andrew is some massive comic book nerd- those comics were old at the time. The only way he could've got them is if he found them on Ebay or if he was given them by studios to do research. Like I said before, he has no reason to get them on Ebay- it's not like he's collecting them. At this point he was recycling them apparently.
Note it's 'Thanos Avengers'. And Thanos is set to play a massive part in Avengers 2. So speculation of Spidey in Avengers 2 is massive. Which could mean Avengers 2 could be over crowded with Guardians too. But apparently Guardians play a minor role. That's the rumour anyway.
It's also possible the same deal was nearly made with Fox for the X-Men and F4 etc. But Fox are arsehats anyway, you can tell by how determined they are to hold on to these properties. At the same time all this Spider-man shit was happening Fox announced the Xmen: Days of Present Past. Which is going to allow them to cross-over all their X-Men characters. It's their own Avengers.
A few of my friends think that Avengers 2 should be really long, like 3 hours, so that it doesn't feel as crowded as the first one.
I don't know, I don't think it's needed since typically a movie is only that long since the characters need to be set up and whatnot. With the movies that we have coming out before then, each character gets introduced and fleshed out and then they're just put together. Especially since they've worked together before they can get over that initial hazy period of them not trusting each other. Hopefully that means we get more kickass action scenes earlier on.

Added info
I wonder how Ant-Man and the Guardians are going to factor in with the Avengers crew.
There's rumours that Jim Carey is being considered for a roll in Guardians. So is Adam Sandler.
Two comedy actors? Probably in consideration for Rocket Raccoon. Only way to make a character like that acceptable in the existing Marvel Cinematic Universe is to make it slightly comic. The character the audience will love and laugh at yet also respect.
Several existing characters are like that (Tony and Thor mainly)
Robert Downey Jr.. did comedic roles but wasn't known for that exclusively. Chris Hemsworth was a soap actor. I watched him on Home & Away.
No way are they comedic actors like Carey and Sandler who do almost exclusively comedy rolls and standup.
Several existing characters are like that (Tony and Thor mainly)
Tony Stark is a genius who made a red and gold robot suit. A bit silly, but mostly really cool.
Thor is a thunder god who wields a hammer no one else can even budge. Sillier than tony, but still pretty badass.
Rocket Racoon is a talking alien raccoon with a big gun. That's the most blatantly silly thing the movies will have shown yet.
Anyone else find Thor really boring? The film.

The film was beautiful. The soundtrack by Patrick Doyle was perfect.

Hulk should get a suit from stark, thors hammer and cap's shield.
It felt more like a romance movie than a superhero flick, and if anything it was more a film setting the stage for both of them, it shoulda be called "Sons of Asgard"
Anyone else find Thor really boring? The film.
the earth sections were uninteresting in every way and it didnt help that they gave no characterisation to thors love interest
The Gatekeeper (Heimdall) was the most badass guy in it.
So will Deadpool when it's finally released be apart of the Cinematic Universe or is he still owned by Fox?
It'd be cool to see him, but I doubt he'll factor into the Avengers.
Also, going back to Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler, I'd much prefer Jim Carrey.

Ant Man and Doctor Strange confirmed as new Phase Three heroes

This has nothing to do with the actors
I'm talking about their characters
Tony is a smartass who gets everything he wants because he's so rich
Half of Thor was him doing silly things because he didn't understand earth's culture
I wonder how Ant-Man and the Guardians are going to factor in with the Avengers crew.
For the Guardians it'll be due to Thanos. Ant-Man becomes a part of the team in the comics so anything is possible.

Supposedly, Viggo Mortensen will be Doctor Strange in the third tier of Marvel films.

I've heard rumors Disney want to get the voice actor for Archer to play Rocket Raccoon.
Jason Momoa is confirmed to play Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy

I really want to see something with the Masters of Evil. But they'd have to set up Baron Zemo in The Winter Soldier, Enchantress in The Dark World, Crimson Dynamo in Iron Man 3 and have them break Abomination out of custody
They are the only true Masters of Evil in my eyes
I wonder if they're ever gonna make the characters as powerful as their comic book counterparts, most of the movie versions would lose pretty badly against themselves in the comics
That probably depends. I'm imagining Joss pulling out all the stops for Thanos in Avengers 2.
