Ted Cruz's praise for the late Nelson Mandela did not go over well with some of his supporters, with many expressing outrage that the Republican lawmaker would commend the South African leader. Cruz issued a solemn statement to mark Mandela's passing on Thursday, but his diehard fans responded with vitriol, posting slurs describing the South African leader as a "terrorist, communist, scumbag and murderer," in comments on Cruz's Facebook page. The outspoken Tea Partier had issued a statement about the former President's death at age 95, saying the anti-apartheid leader would "live in history as an inspiration for defenders of liberty.".... I applaud Ted Cruz. Some people will always take the bad over the good, that's just the way it's going to be.
It always makes me chuckle to see politicians making posts on Facebook, Twitter, or some other social media. Responses like these are guaranteed.
This guy sure he doesn't have Mandela confused with a saturday-morning cartoon villain?
On nine separate occasions Nelson Mandela tied women to train tracks and waited, twirling his moustache, for the train to come
Mandela could undoubtedly be classified as an insurgent, but what makes him special is that he brought an end to the fighting by having the the ANC's demands met legally. Nelson Mandela should be remembered as someone who knew when it was time to fight, but also knew how to end that fighting.
I applaud Ted Cruz.
Ted Cruz - shuts down the US government and then supports a Communist South African Terrorist. Is there no stopping this man?
Ted Cruz - shuts down the US government and then supports a Communist South African Terrorist. Is there no stopping this man?
Don't forget, according to the last woman, he was also a huge supporter of abortion! My checklist I go over whenever Republicans complain about something or someone: Communist Terrorist Abortion Some shit about gay marriage
Ted Cruz - shuts down the US government and then supports a Communist South African Terrorist. Is there no stopping this man?
Ted Cruz didn't shut down the government. Harry Reid and Barack Obama shut down the government, but we shouldn't open that can of worms because it will derail the thread. Secondly, the man had socialist alliances, but he wasn't a socialist himself. He brought domocracy to south africa, and while he could have easily, once in power, changed the constitution to give himself even more power, he didn't. He sided with the soviets mainly so the soviets would give him weapons. Even though he did bad shit in the past, does that erase all the good things he did? No, it doesn't.
you know the yanks during the Revolutionary War were terrorists too
Go read the thread now. Hilarious: https://www.facebook.com/tedcruzpage
Hahahaha please explain to me how Obama had anything to do with the shutdown.
No, because this thread is about Ted Cruz and Nelson Mandela, not the government shut down.
Don't forget, according to the last woman, he was also a huge supporter of abortion!
Why isn't anybody calling for the birth certificate of Ted Cruz?
No, because this thread is about Ted Cruz and Nelson Mandela, not the government shut down.
OK John Boehner is a radical Nazi sympathizer. You can't question this because it's not related to the thread.
No, because this thread is about Ted Cruz and Nelson Mandela, not the government shut down.
Why did you bring it up then
Why did you bring it up then

Ted Cruz - shuts down the US government

OK John Boehner is a radical Nazi sympathizer. You can't question this because it's not related to the thread.
i once saw John McCain bite a man's head off and slowly devour it over the inexorable course of four hours
I think most republicans said some kind of condolences on Twitter or something. Seen Boehner, Palin, McCain, and both Bush's at least.
It was a joke.
Poe's Law. Even if it's satire, someone will believe it.
oh my god are these people for real
we finally got kony and cruz just HAD to flipflop and show his TRUE COLORS
oh my god are these people for real
yes and they vote
This guy sure he doesn't have Mandela confused with a saturday-morning cartoon villain?
I don't think he personally did it himself, but he endorsed it under his group. He was only taken off the terrorist register in the US in 2008.
Samuel L Jackson was a black panther Arrest Samuel L Jackson [editline]bleh[/editline] Christopher Lee killed people during WW2 and was a spy, demote this man to the status of sub-human garbage right now
I need to read more about him before I have a more informed opinion on whether I like him or not.
Why isn't anybody calling for the birth certificate of Ted Cruz?
Because we know he was born in Alberta.
you know the yanks during the Revolutionary War were terrorists too
No, not really. Insurgents and terrorists are not the same. Fighting a guerrilla war against an occupying army is one thing. Executing political enemies through immolation, as advocated by one of Mandela's wives (seriously) and carried out by the organization he led, is quite another. He did a lot of good for his country but a lot of posthumous reporting is treating him like a saint and IMO that's not right. We can still regard someone positively even if they did questionable things, but you shouldn't whitewash or ignore those parts of history.
