$60 for a 20 hour game? No thank you.
I will gladly wait for a steam sale on that.

Which is actually really disappointing because I was strongly considering buying this game at sticker price because it looks so good.

Compared to most FPSs these days it seems like a bargain.

20 hours for an FPS campaign is pretty damn good to be honest, considering most are about 6 hours, or if you're lucky 12

Consider a lot of the recent FPS games that have been released with only like 6 hours or so game time for the same price.
I'd say that's a pretty good deal in regards to 20 hours for that price.

Fair enough, but personally I prefer quality over quantity. What good is a game that takes 100 hours to play if it isn't any fun? Conversely, I've played games that have only had 5 hours of gameplay at most that I would gladly have paid 3x the original price for.
I think that total time to complete a work is a poor yardstick with which to measure its worth, because I could spend 1000 hours reading "The Subspace Emissary's Worlds Conquest" and it wouldn't mean it would be any good.

Really? Quite a lot of games these days are under 10 hours, and people are complaining about over that's 20 hours and has some replayability. I can't think of any non-RPG FPS games that are 20+ hours.
Uh sorry Propane Addict but most Triple-A games are $60 and if you cant afford to part ways with that amount of cash then you must wait years for every game you like
Not only that, but a lot of triple-a games don't come close to 20 hours, nor do they have replayability at all

Too bad most shooters these days have campaigns with neither quality or quantity.

why do so many people think an arbitrary amount of time spent playing a game is the most important way to evaluate its worth? it's dumb and doesn't allow for the notion that one hour with one game can have much more worth than ten in another game. it's such a poor bar for quality.
I have a slight worry that this could drag on a little, but 20 hours is very good for a FPS game that has no online component at all.

this is not really relevant to his point though

That's 33 cents per hour, man. Can't see what you're complaining about.
Also, Half-Life 2 had a campaign of around 10-12 hours, and it was fully worth the price. How is a longer game of the same price less worth it?
Plus they said there is incentive for a second playthrough. So you could even be getting a possible 40 hours for that price.
The fact that it's going to be running 60FPS 1080p on last gen hardware while still looking good is a real testament to how optimized id Tech 5 is.

With that logic I assume you haven't played many games over the past 10 years.
This game is sounding better with every bit of news they release.
I dont understand, the gamespot article says "New Wolfenstein is around 20 hours long if you collect everything" and doesn't even mention that again. It just tells you about an alternate ending.

are you joking or what
I mean half life one of the longest fps campaigns ever is like 15 hours without getting lost so.. this is actually really good
1080p 60 fps on last gen? doubtful...
Half-life 2 came with both deathmatch and cs source. so it was kinda more worth.
[editline]12th May 2014[/editline]
Also, article says 20 hours if you collect everything, whatever that may include.

What the hell were you expecting? A 200 hour title?
1080p and 60 fps on last gen hardware?
Fuck yes! I'm still waiting for reviews but the game sounds interesting enough.

That's 3 dollars per hour, not 33 cent, nonetheless this game is still pretty much worth it.
A trip to the cinema or night out with friends can cost much more than $60, and that doesn't last anywhere near 20 hours.
I'll wait and see. I give anything associated with ZeniMax a rather wide berth, and in addition the game has this odd BioShock Infinite vibe and I personally felt insulted by that game.
Also, pre-ordering is retarded.
20 hours for a fps campaign?
It's either really good, or it will get really boring.

How do either of those things have anything to do with the game itself?
Anyone else remember when people measured a game by how fun it was and not by its framerate.
