I always see some western guy having chinese words like '我' or '爱'. They meant me and love. Seriously, what's the point of all this? You are better off with some dragon than some shitty chinese words. Like this bullshit:
You might as well get a tattoo of a bowl of fucking teriyaki. You only live once, might as well do whatever the hell you want. If someone wants to get a tattoo of a symbol that almost nobody would understand then so be it.
I'd get the Chinese symbols for decay....then lambda underneath that...
Dragons and Butterflies are among the most stereotypical of tattoos. I think I'd prefer a foreign character over a Dragon, simply because the dragon is SO OVER-DONE.
Dragons and Butterflies are among the most stereotypical of tattoos.
It beats getting a tattoo of tinkerbell or your girlfriends name on your god damn chest. I remember one time I was at the bus stop and some drunk guy came out of a tattoo shop thats sitting right next to a bar, drunk guy came up to me and showed me what he got, he got a tattoo of the name "Jesus" on his arm because he thought that if he got the tattoo he'll never go to hell.
I'd get the Chinese symbols for decay....then lambda underneath that...
There is no accurate single character that represents decay. The closest one I can think of is 烂, which means to rot.
Sure, it's fucking stupid. But it's their life.

I think the chinese characters look sexy on some (read: most) girls
I'd do it
I'd get a huge one that covered my entire back that translated to "CHING CHONG" probably vertical in two columns
I know this is about Chinese characters but.. Tribals are so over-used for tattoos. Please people, stop getting them.

Mine is between my shoulder blades, and hers in the same spot as the tattoo in your pic.
My friend has one of those "shitty chinese words". His father died of cancer, and on his right breast he has the word father on it.
My friend has one and it means "Legend"
They're better then tramp stamps at least. Actually no, tramp stamps are a good thing.
I understand if you have some sort of connection to the language/culture or are extremely interested in it, but getting one just because it looks cool is pretty.. uh.. dumb? Why not just get it in English?
My heritage is Persian, so I'd get it in farsi. If you're some mexican douche with no ties to the culture, you shouldn't get it in the language because it makes you look like a faggot.
Should get one that says "Asking what this means means your a faggot"
Dragons and Butterflies are among the most stereotypical of tattoos. I think I'd prefer a foreign character over a Dragon, simply because the dragon is SO OVER-DONE.
And foreign characters arent?
I went on a trip to England and made a friend with a Taiwanese girl. On a campus site she pointed at a boy in a certain degree of confusion and asked me why the guy had a tattoo that said "Bitch" on his neck in Chinese. It took a while to stop laughing at the guy and my friend's apparent lack of knowledge of this trend. Then I realized the western world is just as bad at misinterpreting other cultural trends as the East-Asian world.
And foreign characters arent?
you'd be suprised how many people have dragons and fucking cougars instead of foreign characters
The only type of tattoo I would get is one of those x-ray kinda where it looks like your skins cut open with gears and such.
hindu manuscripts are becoming way too overrated
If I were a tattoo artist and some person ask me to write "friendship" in japenese or chinese, what prevents me to write "I'm a fat bitch" instead, it's not like they're going to know anyway.
hindu manuscripts are becoming way too overrated
but they're so ironic and underrated and hinduism is relatively undiscovered and it goes so well with my american apparel scarf

There used to be a semi-funny beer ad about that here in the Netherlands.
